Fifth Gear

Anyone else less than impressed with this seasons Fifth Gear so far? I usually find that Fifth Gear isn't the best show out there, but this season really seems to be poor for some reason. The only segment I've had any interest in seeing so far is about the LP640, and even then they didn't have an auto journalist reviewing the car. Can't wait for Top Gear to get back on the air :\

Lame indicates life. There is more enjoyment in watching paint dry than there is in Fifth Gear. We have had her mother then her sister...how many more family / relatives will VHB drag on to the show. As for her smiling side kick ... the same as Ozzie with Juile in the Food and Drink of years past ....all he rearly wants to do is shag her..and probably is. As for setting the studio in a cafe? what is all that about?????? got kicked out of the studio probably ... ooooh please Channel 5 take it off and do us all a favour !

The worst thing about it is the new presenter.

Definitely, he's nearly as bad as when Kate Humble was on Top Gear a few years back

I watched it on monday for the first time in a long while and yes, it was terrible. Tim lovejoy is great on soccer AM but does not belong on a car show. They should have brought Helen Chamberlain on instead

I really don't want to see VBH's family trying to go round a track in an Elise...
Would Topgear do that??? NO

Also their feeble attempt at comedy placing 3 nurses In a Skoda MPV.
What is that about?

Maybe Channel 5 get family discount by paying just VBH, hopefully they take note of sites like this and get better

I seem to remember not long ago that Clarkson, Hammond and the other one had their mums testing three small cars, including driving them round the test track as fast as they could. So, to answer your question correctly, YES, Top Gear would do that!

Currently we get:

MotorWeek: A public broadcasting show that used to be good (10-15 years ago, but now is nothing but an advert for the cars. Never met a car they couldn't praise.

CarCrazy: Not sure what this show is supposed to be. The host is Barry Meguire (Meguire's wax/cleaning products). I find it unwatchable.

My Classic Car: Hit or miss. Lot of muscle car related spots.

Then we have no end of "Tuner" shows... Just not my thing.

Nothing even close to Top Gear. And 5th gear still beats everything we have IMO.

Couldn't agree more. Motorweek is TERRIBLE. For whatever reason I keep watching it, secretly hoping it's going to get better. But then they review some car like a Kia Spectra and wouldn't you know it? It's just the best darn little car around. Er, excuse me, ONE of the best darn little cars around. God forbid American journalists say a particular car is superior or inferior to the rest. They're all "good." Every vehicle that Motorweek "reviews" is good no matter what it is, what it costs, or what it looks like. I'm pretty sure according to Motorweek, Jesus Himself drove a Corvette, because of it's bang for the buck factor.
