I decide to take my Ferrari out today like I do every weekend and enjoy a nice cruise to Coconut Grove and have some breakfast at Le Bouchon du Grove. Which has a great breakfast / brunch menu and there is a private parking lot across the street, which we should consider if anyone wants to get together for a breakfast or brunch.
After breakfast I continued to South Beach on the way over there I saw many Ferraris and 2 Lambos, what I’m trying to get at is that I always flash the lights or give a little nod / wave whenever I see another Ferrari. I don’t know if it’s a “Miami” thing, but fellow owners don’t reply back and I only experience it down here. |

I always flash my lights/wave/thumbs up, but sometimes don't get a return. yesterday I was at a light next to a carrera GT and he wouldn't give it to me at all. Like, your 550 isn't cool enuf! Unfortunately, there is a lot of ego in south beach.. As far as I'm concerned, a car guy is a car guy, I'll acknowledge a nice 65 mustang as much as a ferrari..

Tell me about it, what got me upset today was that I gave the right a-way to a fellow Ferrari (red 360 with a Gables Sports Cars tag)trying to get out of a parking space in front of News Café in South Beach. He never waved or gave thanks. I was behind him until we got to 5th street then next to him from there on until he went on to the 826 and went on to I95 south back to the Grove.

It is not just a Miami thing. This happens even up here where I live. A true tifosi appreciates a Boxer.
The newbies, more money than sense, do not understand Ferrari, let alone the heritage, a Boxer is an old car. They drive Ferraris because it makes them "cool". I would not feel bad if one of these elohssa's does not acknowledge you. They are merely a rectum driving a nice car. Besides, do you really expect to find true enthusiasts on South Beach? That is the last place I would look. Last edited by RP; 11-12-2006 at 08:03 PM. |

It's been a Porsche thing since 1964
.Actually, a bunch of the newbs who buy the cars as status symbols never wave or flash, but the enthusiasts always do... even up here in the Philly 'burbs. |
