Nuggets-Knicks

Just caught the clip on SportsCenter. Man, what is with the NBA? Does anyone else feel that it has just gone down the drain in the past few years? I no longer watch it even.. College Basketball is much better IMHO.

Oh man. I was at a friends apartment watching it. Everyone there was going nuts when Carmello punched that guy.

People always get all excited about it, saying it's awesome and such. But the truth is, that should never happen in the world of pro sports. Oh well--It won't be the last.

Next everyone one comes out and says "I's sorry, I shouldn't have...I don't know what got into me" Standard crap you can probably download from some PR firm's site. But it doesn't change a thing. Next week there will be another one. How about a million $$ fine and they sit out the reast of the season? I know it will never happen.

I saw that highlight also on the news last night....Same show that also showed that idiot T.O. that spit in the face of the other football player(sorry, don't remember name), AND THEN admits it on TV while blowing it off like nothing.....rediculous incidents:
Nuggets(view from seat)

(another seat, some foul language)

I personally think that 15 games are a little to over the top for Carmelo to be suspended for. What Mardy Collins did to Smith was uncalled for, when you foul someone you don’t do that in that manner. As for the remarks from Thomas and the Knicks about keeping four starters on the floor late, it doesn’t matter how you coach a professional game if it is within the rules it shouldn’t matter. I agree with Alex that it shouldn’t happen in the world of pro-sports.

Hard fouls by the opposing team when getting embarassed at the end of the game has always happenned. It's almost like an unwritten rule for players to respect the other team and not try to embarass them that late in a blow out. Nonetheless, there is no excuse for what any of the players did. With that said, the image of the NBA players has gone down the drain.

I say it's just too over-exaggerated during this day and age. I remember when those kinds of things were loved in sports because it sparked a future competitive rivalry between the two teams (Bulls v Pistons.) D. Stern put the NBA dress code in effect to try to "clean" the NBA up, but when stuff like this happens, there is nothing much to do. I would not allow my child to mock the way Allen Iveron dresses, or any other of these player for this matter. Kids look up to these guys, so I can understand concern, but kids are just too damn spoiled and shelterd now. Hiding them from it doesn't solve the problem, they will just have to face it sooner or later and they will not know how to react.

Oh yeah, I don't support any professional teams. Why? I get charged for parking, they charge me insane prices to see these guys play a damn game, they charge me for food, they get paid when I watch them on TV. Pretty much, I would be giving them the money for these idiots to go out, buy some crack, get high, get caught with hookers in their Bently on 22's, while on their way to their estate. They are WAY over paid. I mean, shell out more for teachers instead of atheltes, geesh. Give it to some people who actually have a HUGE affect on our children. What do the players do for the community? Squat. They only make it more congested in the area, with a huge area wasting space, attracting too much attentioin. These are grown men playing a childs game, come on.
