new Magnum PI namesake
I received this product update today. Wonder who came up w/the name?
FDA approves thermoplastic implant. The Austin Business Journal (4/27) reports, "Austin-based ArthroCare Corp. has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market a new implant system." The Magnum PI Knotless Implant System "uses implants made of polyetheretherketone, instead of metal, to attach soft tissue to bone," and "physicians can use the implant system in shoulder-related procedures such as rotator cuff repairs and in Achilles tendon repair in the foot." Jack Giroux, President of ArthroCare Sports Medicine, said, "It's something that many of the surgeons have been asking for, and it's great to be able to deliver such an exciting and innovative product." |
