Gallardo's unreliable?

Hey guys, from what I've been reading on this board, and on other boards, I've realized that many members here have problems, usually e-gear/transmission problems that seem costly. I was wondering what the average Gallardo owner spends a year on mechanics and other problems.

much appreciated

I have an 04 6 spd - almost NO repair bills. Excellent machine. FAR cheaper to own and maintain than my 360.

I have an 06 E-gear with 6700 miles on it. I have put the last 3000 on it and no problems with it.

I have 04 Egear NO costs whatsoever except I opted to
replace clutch with 06 sintered clutch. that was 8000 miles ago.

Not sure where you've been reading that, I haven't seen any posts that suggest maintenance issues are frequent or even regular.

I've spent about $48 on oil in the past 8 months and will spend a few hundred to have the oil changed this summer.

I had my last Gallardo for 9000 miles, and my maintenance costs were very low. I don't think most people know that regularly scheduled service costs with Lambo's is actually very reasonable. I am looking forward to my next Lambo arriving in a couple of weeks (Gallardo Spyder).

They are very reliable but don't confuse that with maintenance costs. I would plan on at least a buck a mile for parts, tires, fluids, rock chip repair ect. The costs do not come come in a linear fashion but they will be there. If you drove a lot of highway miles they might be less too. In all fairness I suppose my BMW costs would be higher too if I floored it everytime I got a chance. Compared to other exotic cars they are great but they still are an exotic car with exotic car repair bills.

No car is perfect and I'm sure that someone will have a problem with their car. From what I've seen and read, there don't appear to be any particular problems for the Gallardo. Personally, 8200 miles, nary a problem.

Possibly abuse (launching it) - can't say for sure, I'm sure each situation is unique, but if you abuse the car, things will break very quickly.

Almost 8,000 miles on my 2004 Gallardo with no problems. My only expenses is the annual service which runs about $500 - $700 a year. By far less than my Ferrari.

IMO - The Gallardo is the best exotic car on the market for the money (talking used prices).
