What is happening with our Ferrari team?

It is agonizing to see our team not do as well as we wish, especially after being spoiled with all the huge successes of recent years.
What can pull us out of this situation?

In previous years, Ferrari race cars have been extremely reliable.
Last year, we all felt that Kimi was very quick, but had a lot of "car trouble".
This year, with other drivers, the McLarens are now very reliable & Kimi, in a Ferrari, is now having a lot of "car trouble". Is this a cooincidence?

Is there a way to convince Michael to work in car development, since he is probably the best one in the world to do this very important job? It is said that Kimi doesn't help, and I just don't know how much Phil does.

How much of the lack of performance this year is due to Ross Brawn being on the side lines?

I'll be in Indy, rooting for our team, but something has to change for us to get back to the lead. (hope the Ferrari "Pope" is there again. What a hoot!)
Just my 2 cents

Could it be the car is as good as it would be if Ross Brawn and Michael were still there? Could it be that the McLaren is just that much better? I am beginning to think that the cycle has come about in McLaren's favor. Don't forget, even with Ross and Michael, we had 2005.

Do you mean Pope Scaglietti:

Possibly MS lingering around could actually be holding the team back a bit. They need to make it happen on their own and tap into the resources they have and not think MS is going to be there to bail them out. If he's not really doing much maybe they should tell him to get lost so that everyone psychologically knows it's up to them. Just a thought.

As to the Ferrari issue i think Kimi is over rated and over paid. He is quick yes, but he isnt consistant.

I'm not writing them off for two street races. Monaco is a wild card, and Canada was a fiasco. Almost everyone got the "flying fickle finger of fate" in Montreal.

Let's see how it goes in Indy, before we start looking for tall buildings with roof access.

Mercedes makes good town cars. Let's see what happens when we get back to race courses.

Tifosiron is dead-on, we've been through this.

F1 goes in cycles, don't be surprised if this is the beginning of a down cycle for a few years.
That doesn't mean to give up on and dump your favorite team, but realize: this DOES go in cycles.

Exactly, watch BMW next year. Renault may come back. Having these other teams win championships keeps the sport alive.

But what would put F1 on the world map, would be for Sato to become WDC.

Did I really just say that?

Alas, what would put F1 on american TV would be for Danica to become an F1 driver .... and for Sparco to collaborate with Victoria's Secret for her driving suit.

That will definitely end F1's ratings dearth in the US.

Cool ferrari

hi to everyone
i have been a ferrari fan for last 15 years or more,
and if you look at the history of ferrari racing it always had lean year with regards to racing results, we would all like to see schummi back racing, but it wont happen not this year or next. so give massa/kimi a chance to get
back on track and hopefully at indy next sunday we get the result we want.

I think the lack of testing has played a big part this season not to mention everyone on the same tires it has leveled the playing field. They are still posting fast times, we see that in qualifying they just don't seem to have the ability or want too take the risk and pass. I also think pit stops could be a little better, that’s when Schumi use too make his move, a fast lap before a stop helped.

I have been cheering for BMW for the last 2 years as I was an owner of the M5. I always wanted to cheer for Ferrari and MS, but waited until I had my own Ferrari. Now I do and now they are killing me!!!

Thanks God I can still cheer for BMW!

As a former M3 owner myself all I can say is Ferrari is still way ahead in the WCC points. Has BMW beat Ferrari for the WCC since Nelson Piquet?

Byron, even if MS developed the car, it would help Felipe more than Kimi due to driving setups. Lets wait until Indy to see what happens. Scott has some valid points as well. But McLaren has always been a top tier team and I still think sooner than later Kimi will jell with the team. Great picture of you and Rob though.
