I waited for about 45 minutes at the ATT store in Delray by our office. They ran out of 8's, so I got a 4gb version.
So far, it seems great, but the damn thing isn't activated yet, something about those who are porting a number (it's taking up to 24 hours due to heavy demand, etc.) Anyone get one too, and anyone have any feedback (if there's is working). Most say the activation process is a breeze....just not me. So far, on the other forums, the folks say it's amazing. |

Got mine. No wait.
Not crazy about the keyboard. My hands (or fingers) are about average size, yet 50% of the time I can't accurately type on the keyboard. The letters are simply too close together. Apple could remedy this with a software app that allows you to turn the iPhone horizontal for typing, thus spreading out the keyboard. Net surfing speed is slightly faster than dial-up, but nowhere near hi-speed service. Otherwise, I had cell service within 60 minutes. BTW... am I getting old, or are other people having trouble hearing callers. With the headset, the volume is GREAT. But w/o it, I can barely hear who's on the end of the line. That said... the phone is WAY cool. IMO, the touch screen leaves previous PDA based screens obsolete. The stylus is history! |

I got two last night. Ten hours later-still no activation. Not Apple's fault...AT&T simply wasn't ready for the amount of traffic it got.
Called customer service and they said it is a common issue and they don't know how long it will take to get the activations done...to just wait for an email. You'd think they would have a computerized queue and they could tell you where you are on that queue and how long it will take to get through it, wouldn't you? |

When they come out in red with the Ferrari logo, I might consider one.

Took me an hour to activate online...no problems.....
I can type pretty good by tilting the phone and typing on the left side of the keys....it seems to be accurate that way. |

Im interested in hearing your reviews once you have your phones activated, at first im hesitant to wait till genII, due to past apple product experience. In either case im on the fence with this; i want one but im not sure if i should wait for genII or see what else the market comes out with.
keep us posted |

all this frenzy over a phone that does essentially nothing is a little ridiculous

What was Apple thinking by siding with AT&T, probably the slowest network on the planet.

No verizon no care. Unless it carries Verizon with it, it's not worth it. It's the network.
I'll probably get it when it comes out with verizon for $200. |

One of the best things about this phone is it will make the other manufacturers get creative. I'm going to sit back for awhile and see what develops.
Remeber this is a cell phone. The first question you should ask yourself is, "Is this going to help me make better calls with better reception". For a lot of people, the answer is no.... for the others, congrats and let us know how you like it. |

Here's a trick phone....the Nokia n93i. Hi-def 30 fps video camera, 3.2 mega pixel Carl Ziess lens, wlan, bluetooth, and a bunch of other things... http://www.myworldphone.com/n93i.html seen this thing in person and it absolutely rocks anything else on the market. Best of all they are able to get the batteries and accessories for it here in the states.

As requested her is a short review:
It took a really long time to activate, but 18 hours later my phone worked. the second phone I activated took only three minutes. Ill start with the weakest part...the typing is by np means as easy as on afull size keyboard but I find it easier than on my old treo I have left any mistakes unesoted on this message so you can see exactly what it os like when you type with two fingers. I do much better with one finger but it is slower Everything else other than typing is much better than amy other cellphone I have ever tried Email works great, web browsing is FAR superior to my Treo the sync between the phone and computer is SO much easier than on other phones ATTs EDGE system is not As slow as everyone was saying and the thing really flies on my home wifi network Best uses are web surfing, short emails, youtube, iPod, video and telephone usage Again I wrote this on iPhone ..... highly re ommended |
