I am thinking about getting a new cart (brand-new or a real clean used one). What's the price range on those? A couple of years ago, I saw a cart that was for sale at Ferrari of Beverly Hills (with Ferrari paint job) for sale around $8,000 (and the guys said that that's a really good deal).
If you know any good places for new/used carts, let me know! Thanks! Patrick * Do some new carts come with warranty? |

Most ready to race karts should be around $5K, for a great model.
$8k is way too much. Try these sites, they can get you great deals on top notch Karts: http://www.krcracingschools.com/ - Have their own track at Willow Springs, sells karts new or used, teaches to drive karts, etc. www.trackmagic.com- Awesome karts, big winning history. http://www.tonykart.com- Karting Company been around for years, make great karts as well. Also, there is a shop in So. Cal. (San Fernando Valley) called Pitts Performance, and they have been around since karting was born. I have no website or phone number for them, sorry, but they sell new, used karts, and do full service, etc. Hope this helps. |

Please see my post in this section. You should not have to spend any more than $2K -$2.5K for a very clean 100cc, late model kart, but they are a bit hard to find, especially with karting weather around the corner. It's simply the most fun you can have with your clothes on and I guarantee, my Invader is a great deal! Buy my kart and drive it for a year (keep it clean) and sell it for what you paid for it in a year. |

Peter, I would love to see and test drive the cart, but Atwater is quite a distance from where I'm at... Do you have any pictures of the cart? What are you asking for it? I will be using it for fun/practice in my company's parking lot - I can set up cones in the parking lot on the weekend - so I don't need one that is in top condition.... but clean and operational. If you are looking for a shifter cart, my 125 ICC Tony is available at the end of this year for $4500.00. The cart is in good condition, but I've raced it the last year, and it isn't cosmetically perfect, but mechanically, its pretty good. You'll have to buy a stand, etc. but the basic cart, with spare wheels should be just fine to run. Maintenance on that cart is expensive, since you need to rebuild the engine every 20 hours or so, and its about $1500.00 per. Racing a 125 is brutal, so you'd better make sure that this is what you need before you buy something like this.
If you have no cart experience, buy Peter's cart, its probably a great learner cart. If you want something a little quicker, the ICC 125 shifter is a good place to start. Art |
