Schumacher and Ferrari at the Champs Elysees, Paris

Schumacher to drive F2004 at Champs Elysees

On Sunday, 5 December, the Champs Elysees will provide the backdrop to an extraordinary parade. Travelling down from the Arc de Triomphe to the Place de la Concorde will be a Formula 1 world championship-winning F2004, an Enzo, a 575 Maranello, a 612 Scaglietti, a 360 Spider and an F430.

The even is a tribute to the 2004 Formula 1 World Champions. The occasion also marks the sealing of an agreement between the French Ministry of Solidarity, Health and Family and the ICM (Institut de Cerveau et la Moelle epiniere), which numbers Jean Todt and Michael Schumacher amongst its patrons.
After travelling around the Place de la Concorde, the Ferraris will head for the Ministry offices, where they will be met by the Minister, Philippe Douste-Blazy, the Director General of Public Assistance, Rose-Marie Van Lerberghe and the ICM President, Professor Gerard Saillant.
The cars will boast noteworthy drivers: Michael Schumacher will be at the wheel of the car that took him to his seventh World title, Ferrari managing Director Jean Todt will be on board of the Enzo. Former Ferrari driver Rene Arnoux will be behind the wheel of the 575 Maranello and alongside him will be film director Luc Besson, also an ICM patron. Another former Ferrari driver, Patrick Tambay will drive the 612 Scaglietti, while Felipe Massa, the Scuderia's test driver in 2003, will take the controls of the company's new 8 cylinder car, the F430.
The parade, which takes place after a similar display featuring World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb, will start from the Arc de Triomphe at 10.39, finishing in the Avenue Duquesne at 11 o'clock.

Nice pics, seeing those F1 cars on a normal street. I loved the Bond Street thing in London. When are they coming to Brussels ?

That F1 color looks so much brighter than other cars, I guess they are all Rosso Corsa while the F1 car is of course Rosso Scuderia

Well, crap, I missed it by exactly a week, plus we were staying at a club on the Champs Elysees just up the street from the Grand Palais so would have had an awesome view from our balcony.

Great stuff, though - thanks for sharing.

Cheers
Kevin

So its like the ancient Romans marching the triumphant army and the spoils of war through a victory arch.

Cool.
