355 oil pump chain/tensioner

Anyone had problems with this?? what are the symptoms?

difficult to isolate the problem.

There is a rattle that seems to be comming from the front sump area on idle, it dissapears when hot.

Comments please!

I know it is hard (impossible) to describe noises in any useful way but consider this. When standing under one of those on a lift with the motor at full temperature the oil pump area of those motors is quite noisy. Sometimes enough to get your attention even if you are used to it.

I have never seen the noise I'm talking about be a problem. Is that the same as your noise? We have no way to tell. If you feel uneasy about it or you feel it is something new or abnormal it is worth a few bucks to take it by a Ferrari mechanic and have him tell you if it is normal or not.

My car has the same symptoms. It only happens every so often. Always goes away when the car is hot
