Finding 3052. . .

The search continues.
If you guys have been keeping up with my thread, you'll notice I have found the serial number, thanks to my dads old mechanic Terry Myr.

So I look in Dino Registry, and it comes up as last sold by a Ferrari store that is out of business. Walnut Creek Ferrari in Cali.

I then email Ferrar Market Letter, and they sent me the ad description. It turns out I cant car fax it because a car that old dosn't have the right lenght VIN number.

So what am I to do? I don't know but anyones thoughts would be a great help. Thanks

PJK

How about contacting a few of the DMV's that are in states that the car could be in?

If it sold in California, try them 1st, maybe it leads to another owner, and another, etc.

Also, you can place an ad in FML, maybe in the FOC and FCA newsletters.

DM

Oh, and you did google it, right?

the vin for your dad's car would be:

246gt03052

that is how it would be recognized by the state that it is registered in, if it is registered.

for what it's worth, i have access to these states dmv's and it isn't registered in one of these states.

Colorado Florida Idaho Iowa Kentucky Maine Minnesota Mississippi Missouri Nebraska North Carolina Ohio Oregon Tennessee Texas Utah Wisconsin Wyoming

I emailed the pres of the FOC. Asked if his records showed the car, and told him the last place it sold from.

He told me of the name change.

It's not what you know, it's who you know.

And even more important it's, "who knows what you know about who you know."

My Garage
if the car ended up in Virginia, its VIN could very well be simply 3052. My VA VIN is 11199E. The VA DMV added the "E" because VIN 11199 already belonged to a single-axle trailer that is recorded as stolen . . . had an interesting moment explaining to the DMV lady that my Ferrari was not a stolen trailer.

Called Silicon Valley Auto Group. Teresa was very helpful, and although they only keep records on cars for about 2 years, couldn't find anything. But she did give me some suggestions like talking to FOC, and not only that she put up with my lame questions.

Must keep looking. . .
