308 w/ chrome window trim

Things are little lazy this Sunday morning. I just finished viewing the Dino thread in the showroom, and after seeing the "modernized" black Dino in Australia, I got to wondering "how would a 308 look with vintage chrome trim?" I guess the idea was planted after the recent issue of Octane that reviewed a group of 70s supercars all -with the exception of the 308- had chrome window trim.

So with that said, here we go (I apologize for not recalling the name of the owner of this car).

Parden my photoshop skills. I also lowered the car a bit and blackened the wheel centers to give it some added "agressiveness"
Not too bad I don't think....

Chris,

Ferrari of San Diego custom painted 308 and 328 wheels back then. Sort of a trademark of theirs. A few owners on this site have them.

Here's a 1985 Goodyear ad that shows the effect with a black 308. I think they look sharp too.

I am honoured for picking my car out Sarc!!

Although the chrome around the windows isn't really my cup of tea I do like the wheels and especially the lowering part. Maybe the latter is something I can consider after some time?

The 308/328 is to new of a car to look good with chrome trim.

Reserve that for pre-1975 cars, please.

Personally I applaud all attempts at customization. Thanks for doing the wheels in the first post, and also for posting the poster, helps me consider my options as well. I was thinking of doing the charcoal centers too.

But I sure got "whacked" when I suggested painting the centers, let me tell you! See http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46556

I like that poster look and gotta try that sometime with temporary paint. Could be cool.

It would be neat to change the silver anyways to some kinda titanium black the way it 'looks' in that poster, that's curious though I know it's actually silver in real life.

Funny thing is, the stock wheels look better in real life than in pictures. Probably why I haven't done anything yet.
