Already have my ticket and I know Elliot (ELIM) will be there as well. Ferrari is the featured mark. Just a note: Jeffrey (the street, not the F-chat member) is under construction at the 405, so be patient.

What a day! I wish I would have gotten there earlier. I was there from 10 when they opened the gates until about 4 when they kicked everybody out. Nonstop photo shoot. Very nice selection of cars, especially the Ferraris. It was really kinda weird seeing some of the cars and thinking, "I know I've seen this before. Oh, of course, it was at Crystal Cove yesterday."
Nice to see a lot of familiar faces and to put some faces to a couple of F-chat screenames too. Congrats to George for his Dino class trophy. Big thanks to Elliot (ELIM) for the "hospitality." Great seat for the awards presentations, and an unfortunate front spoiler smashup. The spotter wasn't really sure about the best angle for the awards winners to take up the grass hill to reach the awards area and poor Chuck Lamb lost the front end on his 308 GT4 going up to receive his third place trophy. Almost happened to the class-winning 512 BBi too before they decided to walk the trophy over to the car instead of bringing it up. It's probably gonna take me a couple of days to sort thru my pics and get some posted but hopefully it will be well worth the wait. Bruce Meyer's 250 GT SWB, the Petersen's LWB California Spyder, Jim Busby's 1997 former Schumi F1 car, Steve McQueen's brown Lusso, Gerald Barnes' complete supercar lineup...total sensory overload. |

Haven't even seen pics, and I'm already upset that I didn't go...
Someone's gonna have to keep me away from this thread for my own good.....

My family and I had a great day and saw a lot of really great cars.
Seeing a 250SWB, 288GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo in one morning is pretty awesome... even for us jaded S. CA guys. |

Hey Frank, no problem. After all the photos you've been taking for us (1000+), you looked real thirsty, hungry and in need of some shade! Someone needed to help a fellow F-chatter out.
You really summed it all up...there were so many great things to see under such a beautiful day. I was blown away by Gerald Barnes collection. He told me that him and a few others "drove" his collection (288GTO, F40, F50, and Enzo) to the event. Of course, he personally had to drive the F40. Can you imagine seeing that sight on the freeway? Also, the sound of Schumi's F1 car was music to the ears!! It was such an interesting day all together and my wife really enjoyed it too. Looking forward to those great pictures. I had a great time too. Great talking to fellow F Chaters. Thanks to Elliot. I may not have gone if I hadn't gotten the e mail.

Great show and nice to finally meet Frank and Rick.
Frank, I know exactly what you mean about recognizing the cars that you've seen elsewhere. I'll try and upload the video of schumi's car being started up. Unfortunately didn't have enough room on the memory card to get the whole thing but got just enough. |

Here are some pictures
Fun day ... great weather ... fantastic cars ... even a WWII fly-over!
No.14 250GT SWB won LeMans ... the Blk 212 Superleggera was Henry Ford II's car (unrestored!) ... and, of course, Tom's "new" 166 Spyder Corsa/Barchetta s/n 014i (Snake skin seats and all!) Last edited by superbimmer; 10-03-2005 at 11:24 AM. |

OK. I managed to whittle them down to 200. Sorry if you don't have broadband. As I was going through these I realized that my Ferrari shots tended to be the worst of the bunch. End of the day, I was tired, and that hill didn't offer a lot of good vantage points for us non-mountain-goat-types. Hope you like them.

Wow, nice! I love the Enzo-F50-F40-288 combo. I absolutely have to see that in person sometime in my life.
Thanks for all of the pictures! |
