Crescent Classic Ferrari Tour 2006

Crescent Classic Ferrari Tour...

This event is brought to you by the Kansas City and St Louis chapters of the Ferrari Club of America

A few hints on having a great time with us in 2006!...

The fun starts on Thursday, September 14th and ends on Sunday September 17th, 2006 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

First of all you do not have to empty your bank account to enjoy this event, this is about cars, great roads and being with friends...

The 1886 Crescent Hotel is the host hotel for our event. (www.crescent-hotel.com)

Crescent Hotel & Spa , 75 Prospect Ave , Eureka Springs AR 72632 (877) 342-9766

(Please be sure to make your reservations early! Tell them you are with Ferrari Club of America to get our special rates). As of October 1st, 2005 we are nearly 75% booked up!

For well over a century visitors have been traveling to this unique Ozark Mountain locale in search of adventure, healing and relaxation.

Since 1886 the legendary Crescent Hotel & Spa has been welcoming guests through its doors offering comfort, elegance and genuine hospitality.

This tradition continues today by providing modern conveniences they have come to expect coupled with the time honored amenities, charm, comfort and services they will always appreciate.

We have a VERY strict dress code during this event! Proper attire for ALL events: Jeans and a casual shirt, NO ties, NO Sport Coats, No Fancy Dresses, No Kidding... We are here to relax and have fun, look nice but please be casual! Ladies, comfortable walking shoes are recommended, the sidewalks in Eureka are rugged and steep, you will not be happy in heels!

Travel light, remember, no need to have 3 changes of clothes a day, but it might be nice to have a change of clothes after Fridays drive, I promise you may sweat some of the curves!

The temperatures will most likely be mild during the day, usually in the mid-80's and nights are usually cool this time of year with lows in the 60's, so a jacket at night might be a good idea.

It would be a good idea to be prepared to have a great time, we are going to have fun and sometimes we may have to laugh at ourselves or you! We have a few surprises for you!

Be safe, these are great roads taken at any speed, in fact, we chose these roads because they are a challenge regardless of speed! Slow down, obey the traffic laws and enjoy the scenery!

This event is not just for the guys, there are some very nice shops in Eureka Springs and some nice art galleries, yes there are a few t-shirt shops, but for the most part, you will be impressed with what you find in Eureka’s shops downtown...

The Crescent Hotel has an excellent spa, THE NEW MOON SPA (www.newmoonspa.com). You should book your spa appointment before you leave for Eureka Springs!

You need to fuel up your car on Thursday before we leave out Friday morning, we do NOT anticipate any fuel shortages, but gas stations can be a long ways apart.

Your cell phone probably will NOT work ANYWHERE once you get to Eureka Springs... I suggest you leave the Crescent Hotels number with your family or office should they want or need to get hold of you...

The roads around Eureka Springs are in very good condition, but this area is not called Little Switzerland for nothing, some streets will be too steep for your Ferrari. Stay on the main streets and you will not have any problems.

Schedule of Events

Thrusday, September 14th

2:00 PM Crescent Hotel. Visit from the Eureka Springs Police Department, the local Sheriff’s Department and the Arkansas State Police. We will be giving rides to members of law enforcement and perhaps we can arrange for them drive a Ferrari, Bentley or a Maserati. The police in this area have been very generous to us in the past and we want to let them know we appreciate their efforts.

5:00 PM Crescent Hotel the Conservatory Room. Reception sponsored by Maserati of St Louis and Bentley of St Louis. Graham Hill and his partner JJ Mills are our new friends and are anxious to be an important part of this event. We are very excited that Maserati of St Louis is now the Ferrari Factory Authorized Ferrari repair facility for this area.

6:30 PM Crescent Hotel the Conservatory Room. Dinner will be served at 6:30 PM in the Conservatory.

8:00 PM Crescent Hotel 2nd floor. Ghost tour! The Crescent Hotel is rumored to be haunted and has been featured on the Discovery Channel, this is no Casper the friendly ghost tour. I promise it is lots of fun and an interesting history lesson on our host hotel.

Friday, September 15th
9:00 AM Crescent Hotel. Drivers Meeting.

9:30 AM Crescent Hotel. First car out will leave at for the start of fantastic drive on some of the most breathtaking and challenging roads you will ever experience. Part of our tour route was listed in Road and Track as being one of the best roads in North America!
Maserati of St Louis is providing a Maserati Quatroporte and a Maserati Spyder to be driven on the tour, Bentley of St Louis is providing a Bentley GT and perhaps a Bentley Continental Flying Spur to be driven on the tour as well. A sign up sheet will be available the morning of the tour.
I suggest you bring your camera, and if you see something you want to do along the way, feel free to do so. This drive is sponsored by Autosport Gallery in Stillwell, KS our Ferrari Service Specialist in Kansas City. Chris Hill has been instrumental in keeping our cars in excellent shape over the last 5 years, so we were very pleased he asked to be a part of the Crescent Classic.
The destination of our tour is a closely guarded secret! But, the roads on the tour are smooth, wide with just the right combination of straights and EXTREMELY tight curve sections. We have made the most incredible tour guide for you, digital pictures show you the intersections where you need to turn, we also include a map that shows you where you are along the route at each turn and a set of written directions with mileage makers...
The first leg of our tour will end with a lunch stop. This is a good chance to stretch your legs and catch your breath!
After lunch continue your tour by taking a high altitude tour back to Eureka Springs and the Crescent Hotel.

6:30 PM Cocktails, Crescent Hotel the Conservatory Room. Cash Bar.

7:30 PM Dinner, Crescent Hotel the Conservatory Room
After dinner, feel free to go upstairs to Dr. Bakers Lounge, I noticed the music in the lounge got better the more I drank, but the view from the outside balcony is incredible!

Saturday, September 16th

8:30 AM Crescent Hotel. Drivers Meeting. First car out immediately after the meeting
Short tour to War Eagle Mill (www.wareaglemill.com) for breakfast on the top floor of this 1800's grist mill, the food is pretty basic, but very good, the drive is great! (You pay for your own meal here). This tour is sponsored by FERRARICHAT.COM and will be led by Rob Lay, owner of Ferrarichat.com.
After breakfast we will return to Eureka Springs and gather at Pine Mountain shopping center at 12 noon for a Police escorted tour through downtown to our reserved parking so that you can enjoy the many shops and restaurants in this historic city.
Suggestion: Saturday you may want to have lunch on the train, go to www.esnarailway.com for details!

5:15 PM Parking lot at the Crescent Hotel. We will meet in the at 5:15 for a 5:30 departure to The Lodge on Whitney Mountain.

6:00 PM Dinner at The Lodge on Whitney Mountain. Located 21 miles west of Eureka Springs. The lodge sits atop Whitney Mountain, one of the highest points in NW Arkansas and it overlooks beautiful Beaver Lake. The views are just breathtaking and the food is excellent! Remember, casual clothes and bring your cameras, this is a view that you will not soon forget! Cocktails from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (cash bar). This restaurant has a very nice wine selection and a couple of Diet Cokes on hand.
It is our hope to get you back early enough so that you can go downtown to the Jazz Festival, (www.eurekaweb.com/jazz/) but when you get a room full of Ferrari owners with great food and drinks, it may be tough to get everybody to leave!

Sunday, September 17th
10:30 AM Crescent Hotel Brunch, we will meet at 10:30 AM for the most incredible brunch you have ever enjoyed!

12:00 Noon Time to start your journey back home!

Both... We really do not want this to get too big. FFQC taughts us all lessons last year when it swelled to nearly 125 cars, just too hard to handle and then it is not fun anymore!

We have rooms for 35 people, we really want to stop at 35.

Everyone that came this year has a guaranteed reservation, and that was 23, so we are only accepting 12 more. We have actually accepted 7 of those 12 at this point, and we just expanded our invitation to the St Louis Chapter of FCA.

You can see where this is going! We are going to make sure our friends from Texas get to go, so...........

If you are interested, make your hotel reservation now and send us an email to let us know you want to attend.

(You will be seeing a special on SpeedTV about the Crescent Classic early next year)

Karen and I have made our hotel reservation and sent in our application and check a week or two ago. Is there any sort of formal confirmation that we should expect to receive?

CMPARRF40, I was woundering if it would be oaky if I were to drive over to the event and enjoy the cars for a day? I think I spoke to you at the USGP last year when you had you F40 in the infield. I was the guy from Tulsa that asked you a few questions about your car because I was amazed that it had Oklahoma plates on it. So I hope you would mind a little all Subaru from Tulsa coming over to see some cars that we dont ever get to see around here.

I can not believe we are just 6 weeks away from the Crescent Classic!

The road course this year is just incredible! I ran it again recently and the roads are just fantastic, challenging corners, fast straights, beautiful scenery!

The restaurants are even better than last year and we have surprise for entertainment on Saturday night!

We just completed the design for our shirts this year, much different than last years, and as much as everyone loved last years shirts, I think this years will be even better!

A few rooms remained since we added additional rooms, if you have not signed up, August 15th is the deadline, so act fast!

Bentley will be returning with a selection of cars to be driven on the tour on Friday, reserve your Flying Spur or Continental GT now! (subject to availability)

We look forward to seeing you soon!

We will see you in Eureka!

All rooms are now taken!

We will establish a waiting list and we will try to find additional rooms at other Hotels, but space is very difficult to get this time of year.

Thanks!
