Yellow 308 GTB in Oxford

7th November 2005, Headington, Oxford. RHD Ferrari 308 GTB fibreglass in yellow with deep front spoiler and shiney add-on wheels, black interior. Looked fantastic.....

.......until he changed gear. There was a "Whoosh" - he had one of those gizmos from "The Fast and the Furious" fitted to the gearbox......

Who are you? Confess.

Be interested to know who the owner is as I might be looking for one next Spring ... and yellow is the colour

ps: are you sure the "whoosh" wasn't induction roar from the carbs?

Definitely 100% sure not a Fiero....I have owned two 308's. Also, it sat at the lights with me standing next to it for about 2 minutes, so I got a good long look at it.

Re: induction raor from carbs - the car was a good 50m away when he changed gear, so the whoosh was too loud to be carbs, I think.

FYI - Nick Cartwright seems to be the person with the best selection of fibreglass 308s. David Fuller at Forza288 and Mike Wheeler at Rardleys tend to know of a few for sale.

If the car had been turbocharged that could be the noise from the dump valve, which would be about right given he was changing gear at the time.
Fibreglass 308 + turbo == just insane amounts of fun! ;-)

Cheers,
TOM

Definitely Right Hand Drive - no 208 Turbos were made in Right Hand Drive, I'm told.
A mystery...

I am standing next to the owner of the said yellow Fiero Turbo tastic and he is very upset... only joking!!!

The car is in fact a 1976 308 GTB... it has a tubi hence may have been sounding a little louder than normal .... and the woosh you heard we believe was coming from the Carbs (we hope!)

Even though he looks like he stared in the Fast and the Furious he definately has no aspirations to 'customise' his classic 308!!!
