11 killed in the accident, reported to have gone down about 1 mile from the runway after take off.

Whew...that was a high pucker factor takeoff. If that is a routine departure, I'm not surprised one crashed, though they definitely didn't have to worry about density altitude at -26c or however cold it was.

Sounds like it had an icing problem. No airfoil, wouldn't fly.

WOW !!!! That is really using all the runway.........we had a Dnieper Volga AN-124 here last year and that thing seemed to take forever on it's take off roll and used almost all the runway too...........
