Inexpensive 348 drivetrain

I saw this over in the 360/430 section; if one can get past the monstrosity this car has become, it might make for a cheap spare/project drivetrain for a 348 (this FrankenFerrari is based on an 89 Mondial T; 2.5 Motronic and probably has the dual disc clutch pack and the same gearing as the gearbox in the SS models):

Disclaimer: Not my car, no idea as to condition, etc, etc - just passing along for the 348 hot rodders.

Cheap (salvage?) car + too much time + access to body shop - (too much cash invested + lost job and/or lost home equity) = orphaned Franken-Ferrari. You do know what happened to the Frankenstein monster, don't you?

Good grief, even with bad pics it looks a monster, mind you he got the 1 inch body panel gaps right, perhaps a true ferrari after all!

This project was obviously a 'red neck adventure'.

For $8K somebody could pull the body off, Put some kind of fiberglass sports racer body on, Add roll cage and build a Ferrari sports racer. Then sell the 360 body panels. Just my imagination running wild.

What do you think BillyBob?

If you look at it as a pile of parts that's easy to move, it's a great deal. Only if you look at it as a car does it become somewhat questionable. One man's dream is another man's nightmare.
