Hey guys, I am a student at UNLV, and I am looking for a part-time job until I finish school. The amount of money isn't a huge issue, I just want something fun for the next couple years. I inquired to Lambo Las Vegas and the dealerships in Ceasar's and Wynn, and got no response from either. To be a host for a casino or any of the nightclubs on the strip you have to be 21, which I turn in late July. All my work experience is in sales, I'm good at it, but I just can't dedicate that kind of time right now because of school. Any suggestions??

Have you tried the other "semi-exotic" car dealers ... Norm Baker, Towbin?

I'd never work for Towbin and that King of Cars guy. Haha, I'll look into that other one.

It can be debated whether it is fun or not, but I work at a local car wash, as does RossaHolic. It is called Fabulous Freddy's, and there is great money with a fun work environment, at least at our location (Trail Center in Summerlin). We see plenty of exotic cars come in, and its a generally laid back work environment. The only downside is being outside in the heat.

Also, I'd avoid a dealership, because you would end up being a lot porter or valet, and then are generally treated as the dealership b***h.

For reference's sake - Qualifications for a Casino Host are a bit more than turning 21.

Yes for top guys personally handling the big accounts... but at smaller casinos maybe. Also, I think it would be fun to be an assistant for one of the top guys.

What WAX was trying to say is, unless you have extensive prior casino history you WONT be a casino HOST.

you dont see any 21 yo HOST, and or PIT Bosses.

Why not state what you are in school for ?
    and go from that..

I'll agree with crazynova23 about working at the car wash.

All I'll add to his testimony is...if you're the hard-working type, you can make extremely good money just in tips on a daily basis. It's not rare for a person in mine or Kyle's (crazynova23) position to bring in $70-$100 a day (5-6 hour shift) just in tips, not including your hourly wage. For me, it's perfect because the hours are very flexible and good for a college student, like myself here in a few months.

Thank you for that factually correct assessment.

As it happens, I'm married to a Casino Host, and she is the only one on that particular property. Her boss is the Player Development Manager. He's a nice guy, even comped us for a dinner this past Sunday, Man, what a feast. Though I've never met him, nicer still must be the CEO of that Casino, as he picked my wife to be the Casino Host... out of the blue.

In another city, she was on the job for less than a year before she became a Supervisor, in which capacity she served for 11 years.

She took a break from the business for 5 or so years & was on the job at this Casino as a Player's Club Rep for just a few months when the owner saw she was perfect for the job and ****-canned the previous host.

Though her Son is 23, she's so pretty, they could be mistaken for Brother and Sister. Him being the oldest, of course.

    UPDATE:

I just got a job as a Sales Rep / Talent Scout for a modeling agency. Exactly what I was looking for... just something to do on the side for fun. I get $150 for every person I can sign up to have a $350 portfolio made. You guy's think that's a good deal? Plus a business card and a purpose I think is the best ice-breaker for hot chicks... :D
