    I know that Zonda Monza very well- nice to see it out! The owner has an amazing collection- and is a great guy too..

    Bobby lost a right rear tire today driving Steve's '06 997 GT3 Cup car in NASCAR 2 looping it into the wall. The car suffered moderate damage to the left front. Bobby was fine but what a ride... Into a spin at 140+ MPH in the banking of Fontana...

    I have some pics at home that I can post later of both the Pagani and the Mercedes, but the Pagani did go out briefly during the open lapping on Saturday during lunch.

    Any more details about the Mercedes? Is is the FIA GT car that ran in 1997?

    Rusty tells me that it is the only 12 cylinder in private hands... It's quite a car... The sun was so bad when I took my pics but here's a couple more...

    As promised, here are some of my pics... The Mercedes was quite a treat and sounded great on the track. Would have loved to hear it in anger (and would love to know the story of how it got into private hands). I walked past the garage and saw the Pagani first (distinctive headlights and nose) and said Wow! Gotta love that next moment of realization when the brain says "Hey - you think that's cool - look at what's next to it!!!" I still don't know how you get in and out of the Zonda. Most supercars are tough, but it looks like you need to be a tiny gymnast to get in and out.

    I'm bummed that I didn't take more action shots of cars on the track. I figured that others would be doing that and I know when I get started taking action shots, I end up doing nothing but taking pictures in search of the perfect shot and not enjoying the racing.

    Seeing that CLK-GTR lay 2 black stripes from corner to corner on the pace lap was awesome. I had the best seat in the house, right behind him in the Porsche 959 pace car... Unbeleiveable!

    Kevin- I was in that particular Pagani [Monza] and you have to remember it was made specifically for the track- and that, as far as I know, that's the only Pagani with a permanent roll cage. Yes, it was the hardest car I've ever gotten in- but the benefits outweigh all in a crash..

    Joe I was there and ran with the speedventures group. I thought that 348 looked familiar like I saw it on Fchat. Too bad we did not meet.
