Interesting car, however, I noticied that it is offered for sale by Cosmopolitan motors... Be aware of Cosmopolitan motors, as my past experience with purchasing a car from them was (far) less than stellar! Cheers, Sam
There was only 1 factory TR modded by Pininfarina for FIAT Pres Agnelli Then I heard of a handful of factory 512TR Most of the rest were built by Straman, Lorenz, or other companies. I think Ultrasmith in NYC built a few targas
Yes this would be a conversion targa. Also some full convertibles were converted. Is there a top? I'm guessing no since the ad doesn't mention it.
I talked to the dealer and yes it has the top, supposedly the conversion was done in Belgium. - Nguyen
here are some pics of of the one original converatable. not a bad design. however i think the colors kill it. pics sent to me by another member on this forum. -Thomas Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very, very, very interesting! When I saw this thread for the first time, I thought it was the Ultrasmith conversion, which has appeared here on FChat and on Ebay several times. But now I see that it's a different car!!!! I suppose the conversion was done by the Belgium company EBS (Ernst Berg Styling), which was located in Brussels and owned by Dutchman Ernst Berg, an ex racedriver. As far as I know, they only made one car, but I have no confirmation of this info. See also my website: http://www.red-headed.com/register/ebs.html Thanks for sharing!
That's a cool and very useful web site you have, thanks for putting it together! Where did you get the image and conversion info for the yellow targa TR on your site? I couldn't verify the car service history as well as some other info, so I've asked the dealer for vin number and more info, we'll see if he'll respond. - Nguyen
There was a short article about this car, published in a Dutch magazine ("Autokampioen") in 1985. According to the Ebay site, the VIN is ZFFTA17B000055885, which represents an early European version Testarossa. I will also appreciate any additional information about this car that you might find!
>That driver's seat has seen better days Dah, another F-chatter saw the car and advised that make sure I actually see the car to know its true condition before buying/bidding, etc. I'd have dropped considering it long ago, if I wasn't for the targa (or convertible) aspect. - Nguyen
