Hey guys, im new to this forum and I've been reading posts about the F40's some of you guys own. Well I don't have one myself, but there is one that I know of that resides about 30 minutes away from where I live. It's at a place called R&M Classic Cars in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. The guy there told me the story on it, and apparently its not your average Ferrari F40, its a production prototype EuroSpec one. I guess this means that it has potentially been driven by Mr. Enzo Ferrari him self at one point in its life. Its a 1987, and apparently there were only about 2 or 3 of these types made, just before they launched the full production cars. So this is a very unique F40 for sure.

Cool thing is, its got more power than the normal F40's, im told around 620HP/545 ft lbs torque, so it moves. It also only has 1009KM's on it!!! I have many pics of the car, so I'll pick my favorites to post for you guys.

Maybe some of you know more about this particular car than me, if so please, do tell.

Just thought you guys might like to see this beauty :)

    Thanks

The car is owned by a friend of mine from Dallas and is going on the RM Auction block in Monty this year during Pebble Beach week. Reportedly the only car to have been removed from Galleria Ferrari Museum and given to someone by Luca himself...

If you notice the rear glass is different from production as are the rear slits behind the wheels (on the prototype there are 5 diagnal slits on production there are 4) also this car is 7-900 lbs lighter than production and has a one off engine management system, what became the LM turbo's and many other things unique to this vehicle.

I did a couple of Magazine articles on this one...

Was this the car that was meant to be at RM in Monterey this year? Maybe it sold after the owner consigned it...

It hasn't sold yet, though if and when it does, it will easily fetch close to $1 million, if not more!

What a car indeed. The F40 is my ultimate dream car. The euro cars look so much better than the USA regulated ones.

Was any model F40 sold that didn't have "F40" etched on the sides of the rear wing? I remember hearing someone mention there was.

I also noticed different placement of the mirrors, and the fog lamps or whatever they are in the rear grille, not in the lower bumper.

    Great pics....awesome car.

That F40 looks spectacular. And I'm unbelievably not so far from it, as I'm currently in London. Is the car still in Chatham, Fast2ghl?

Not that I know of, I'm pretty sure they were all sold with the F40 name etched in the wing.

Yes Sir, it is, in all its friggen awsome glory! One of the techs at R&M said that he got to take it out around back, and he said he was doin about 20MPH, and then just did a first gear pull on it, not even half gas, just tapped it and held for a second, and the turbo's lit up, the thing rocket to 65MPH, in about 550ft. He said "this thing's a weapon man...It's crazy fast!"

But I believe it'll be there till January.

Another problem with the F40 pictured is that apparently its not even street legal, so whoever bids and wins, is gonna have to keep it in their living room!

Sir, that sounds fantastic. It's actually sounds pretty scary, if you know what I mean. I would love to see it in person, if possible, in the future. It would be sinful to pass up the chance to see 1 of 8 F40 Prototypes. I'll let you know if I managed to visit it (like you did) before January. :)
