Also just seen this on another petrolhead forum I frequent - just goes to show how dangerous these Top Gear stunts can be even though they are often presented as nothing more than light hearted and silly jokes and pranks on the programme. Wishing him (and his family - think he's married with kids?) all the best and hope for a quick and full recovery.
Come on hamster, you can pull through, my thoughts are with you, we cant lose you and the croc man, not so close together!!
Hope he pulls through and that the experience doesn't put him off presenting Top Gear. He did seem to get a lot of the dangerous/uncomfortable jobs to do on the programme.
Said to be in stable condition. Crashed at either 280mph or 315mph in a jet powered car. Parachute malfuctioned. I think it deployed, but it sent him to the right side of the track, maybe even off.
oh no...what sad news. but common...i think he'll pull thru this, but i just hope he doesn't call it quits when he fully recovers...
Oh no... Shocking! http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/north_yorkshire/5367616.stm - Suffers brain-injury... I don't know what to say... so sad!
I suppose it could mean anything, hopefully nothing bad or long-term. Obviously it has been caught on video so I'd imagine its only a matter of time before we see it, what a thought!
This was at about 6.15/25 this morning - BBC News 24 in a live report from outside the hospital. The studio staff then went through the newspapers which painted a darker view. I assumed that the guy outside the hospital would be more up to date. What are they saying now?
