    Oh my lord.... what a weekend. I'm still somewhat recovering. Highlights?

    * Outstanding early morning run to Pinehurst
    * Coffee, sweets, and 30 people in front of the resort for an hour or so.
    * Plenty of Ferraris...
    * A 4-minute drive to the round-a-bout in Pinehurst where a car went "poof" (or screech?)
    * A gorgeous -- and I mean freaking gorgeous drive to Hillsborough for lunch.
    * A waitress that wished we were all dead.
    * A bumpy, fast, *rural* drive to Berry Hill
    * VIP parking in front of the mansion on the lawn
    * Luxury, on top of luxury in the hotel.
    * Cocktails, cocktails, and slurred speech
    * A surprise flat tire
    * Banquet with all sorts of fun
    * Billiards with friends
    * Collapsing into bed
    * Elegant breakfast with friends
    * Rain

    and worst of all...

    A stupid black 348 that wouldn't start after spending the night outside without its beloved Battery Tender. Thanks to Eddie, Sarah, and Mrs. JRR who helped to push start the bastard in muddy sloppy grass. It fired up, and drove fine.

    * Uneventful drive home. Sleep.

    Pictures to follow.

    For my Saturday's support group, here's an update on my clutch. After a long ride to the ER (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49255&page=29), the car is now on the operating table and the clutch autopsy has revealed a severe amputation of all but one of the pressure plate's fingers. The thrust bearing also feels ill and will be replaced in rapid order thanks to the outstanding services of Ricambi America. Here's a look at the materials removed:

    Wow Bob,
    You weren't dumping the clutch at 7k RPM's were you?

    Lunacy lives on...

    Not in downtown Pinehurst . . . especially since it wasn't Kevlar.

    With only 13 days to go until drivin' the FULL COURSE at VIR (still some open slots for FCA and non-FCA members) and a drive to Darlington on the 6th, Ive elected to go the stock route. Maybe next time.

    The flywheel is still fine. Actually the clutch discs are still lookin' good and are not worn beyond limits.
