The name 'Miura' was made famous in 1947 by the world famous bullfighter Manolete. He turned his back on a black Miura bull named 'Jslero' and paid for it with his life. From that point on, the ferocious breed of Miura bulls were known not just to die-hard bullfighting fans, and the Miura name came to sybolize fear, strength and power.
Ferruccio Lamborghini visited the Seville ranch where the bulls were bred in 1962, and inspired by their majesty he took thier being as the symbol for his new car company. When his young engineers came up with a sportscar design for the ages in 1965, there was no question in his mind what the car would be named: MIURA! Lets share some REALLY cool Miura images - as if we need a reason to admire these seminal supercars from Sant Agata. |

No, TC Browne is the man: He crashes his Miura, then as his terrified passenger watches, he jumps on top of the overturned car and strikes a pose!

Lambo doors
I got some old magazines with MIURA sketches prior to production and their doors open upwards !
Q. was there a time when they planned Miura doors to open in a scissor like fashion? Q. the man with the hat ... is he Don Eduardo Miura ? Last edited by Miura Jota; 12-05-2006 at 09:52 PM. |

That is Don Eduardo Miura (with Ferruccio Lamborghini)...and below is the same Miura that belonged to him, 0961, as shown earlier at the 1967 Barcelona Motor Show looking decidedly fresher. Joe Last edited by joe sackey; 12-05-2006 at 11:35 PM. |

The Miura is one of my favorite all time cars. I love how low the roof is, anyone know how high it is? It has to be around 40 inches.

These B&W photos are the shiznit. I think with the Countach and Miura threads, that the LamborghiniChat.com forum has eclipsed the other forums on F-chat. The Dino forum with Jon's restoration and John Corbani's "Dino Saga's" are a close runner up. Probably not Rob's intention, but there you have it.

Former Porsche & BMW racing driver Hubert Hahne was the sucessfull German Lamborghini concessionaire, and he sold a dozen Miura SVs, keeping this one in fabulous period "Lucci Del Bosco" and white leather as his personal car.
.....oh, and in case you havent guessed, yes, the "HH" on the plate means Hubert Hahne ;-) |

This pink-primered Miura SV is a late chassis with factory A/C and split sump. It simply awaits someone brave, rich & foolish, or some combination thereof! LOL!

I Love the Muira. One of the most desirable shapes a car has ever worn. Pleasing to the eye from absolutely any angle.
Have taken a fair few photos over the years. Here's one for a starter Last edited by R33; 12-06-2006 at 06:19 AM. |

I personally think the Miura is the greatest car of all time.
While not as shocking or monumental as the Countach. The car was a major FU to the rest of the automobile world. Interesting fact.... i have NEVER sat in another car that had such a comfortable seat. |
