Miura no 4659

Hi fellas,

It's amazing to see period photos of 4659 in Malaysia back in 1972. I read this info about 4659 a few years back but often wondered if it is true that it was in Malaysia, whatsmore in 1972.

But, seeing these pictures, this can be happily verified. The registration 'C5' is still in use today. It's retained within the same Royal Family. And it's now on a Lamborghini still, no less!
Credit to member AnType for picture. It's a first model Gallardo on SE wheels. And I've seen this car personally.

It's been said that Tengku Arif Bendahara (the first owner of 4659) later bought a Countach in the 80's but this remains to be substantiated. He passed away in the 90s, sadly.

Fantastic reporting! Great to see "C5" still alive on a green Lamborghini no less.

Personally I like the patina of car that is used and cared for.

Cheers Jim

Please, please, please, take pictures of every inch of that car, literally. I own number 9, also built in 1967, and your car is the closest car I know to mine that is still all original and I want to use it as a reference for when I redo my car. I for one would absolutely love to get copies of the CD's of those pictures for this purpose. The record you can create with would be essentially unique at this point.

I do not blame you at all about your reaction to people "showing up"; that's not a good thing and would really torque me off as well.

If I may ask, do you still have the original battery for the car? Have you changed any of the rubber parts such as wipers, hoses, bushings, etc? I noticed in some of the posted pictures that the car has a red top fuel pump, is that original to the car? The red bottom air filter intake are original I assume. Are they the same color as the underside of the air filter tops (which are a red/burnt orange color).

Thank you for preserving your Miura as you have. I sincerely hope that after your hard efforts to save this car in as original condition, you are able to record the car in every detail so the work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Ed, Joe, others:
These come from posts circa 5529, from about a year ago. Did this beautifully original Miura ever get its pictures taken? I am still hopeful that this car will be documented thoroughly and that I can get a set of all of the pictures to help document these cars in their orignal state and for someone like me to use to asist in making their car correct.

Thanks for any input you may have.
Alberto

Smile

I have to remind myself how detail-oriented we have all become - fluted lenses, clear lenses, convex lenses, more convex lenses, and I know I'm one of the worst offenders... heck in 1972 the lower eyelash had fallen off Miles' Miura and he was still happy! That was before he crashed it, so no matter anyway.

On my own, I'm looking for a side view of a Miura (no matter the version) in dark green w/ golden lower part & rims.

Miura 4302 is a P400S, converted outside the factory to something else. It used to be dark green at one point.

Watch: somebody will come on here and say it was a factory conversion!

Oh my God... At least replicas of SVJs like 4840 and 4088 look a little like the "real" ones...
