I am fairly certain that it was one of Bob Norwood's first P4s. The Boxer was badly burnt and too costly to redue so he turned it into a P4. David
David- your correct. That was the first P-4 replica Bob did, I remember it starting as a 365 BB that was burned as you said then converted with David Piper fiberglass bodywork. The car was actioned in Dallas 20+ years ago and I had not heard of it since. It looks to be in pretty sad shape.
From a little bird who sat on my window sill: Bob Norwood, back in 1982 - before he started building the aluminium-bodied cars. See this earlier thread: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45221 and also: http://www.*************/PitLane?viewThread=y&gID=0&fID=2&tID=105157&bottom=100#post104 for more pics !
Having been touted around eBay; FerrariChat, Pistonheads, etc., for the last 18 months, the car is now offered for sale by VDV Grant. See: http://vdvgrant.be/sale.php?id=362 Thanks to Paul Harris for the 'heads up'.
I think Philippe and Paul Grant work together sometimes. (The yellow Favre 250 GTO replica belonging to the same person as the Norwood Boxer P4 appeared in their showroom ages ago).
It seems this was based on a 365BB chassis with 512BB engine. Anybody know the chassis# by any chance? Onno
That is what I was also led to believe. I think it may have some connection with s/n 18135. See: http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages/cardetail.php?reqcardir=FE-365BB-18135 (and scroll down to the History section).
this would help it a lot http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/437454-REG/Lowel_LC_94563_Rifa_EX_Small_Triple.html
18135 must be a different car also connected to Bob Norwood. After all, in 2005 this car was still a 365 BB, if a bad one. Onno
Just looked at this thread, again, and a Mod appears to have just moved it from Vintage to the Boxers/TR section. Could I make a suggestion, please ? Move it to Ferrari Discussion (not model specific), and tack it on the end of this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126777 Might make more sense. Thanks.
for those that miss the humor .. the link i posted is to a lighting kit that makes very soft light .. the kind of light needed to make a car such as this look anywhere near legit.
If you were under the impression that my remark was aimed at you, let me clarify, because it was not. IMO the thread was a thinly disguised attempt to market the car (again....), an impression amplified by the later suggestion to PM the poster if interested in the car. If anywhere, it should be in the replica thread in the vintage section, but IIRC there are a good few pics of it there already.
I agree. I think this thread is spam as I believe was the same posters thread on the "8C" a while ago in Vintage.
