Guys Just wanted to let you know that I just completed the PPI on the 360 (that I have now bought). I flew out to LA ( from Tampa ) to be there , and took the car to Damian at Fusion Motor Sports on a recommendation...and spent all day with him in the shop while he went throught the car from top to bottom. And I mean top to bottom... What a pro ! And just a really nice guy to boot. You guys in the LA area are lucky as hell. Damian has been in the business for years with dealerships, and has recently gone out on his own. He's trying to grow his business with word of mouth and referrals..and this is as big a one as I could give. Honest, straight, really knowledgeable, no BS and no nose in the air crap. Great guy. Give him a try if you're in the LA area - if you have not done so already. His number is - 818-773-9636. You won't regret it. PS - He did a full 30K service for me ( car has only 7700 miles ) in about 24 hours, so that the car could get on a truck back here to FL. Can't ask more than that !
I had Damien do an oil change and some exhaust work on my 360 and agree with everything Roger says. Damien is a class act. Randy
Damien is the best. He knows ferraris and soccer. He changed my exhaust in half a day and help me out in many other little things. If you need to order stuff, he can do it for you also. it's hard to find honest mechanics nowadays, but we got one in the valley.
Guys i just bought a 360. Stever R recommended Damian to order me a Larini Exhaust. I can tell you that i cant remember the last time i received such a great customer service. He ordered the exhaust at a price better than others. He had it shipped straight to my mechanic. The package incurred some custom problems. Damian made sure to talk to Fed Ex and resolved the issues and kept in touch with me. On top of that, he answered whole bunch of questions for me. I will use him in the future to order if i need anything for my 360. thanx Damian.
It is always nice to hear stories like this... Service is not as non-existant as I thought! Nice going Damian....Steve RRRRR speaks VERY highly of you. And for you to put up with his exhaustS........ You must be a great guy
My car is at Damian's shop right now.....just had the timing-belt, accessory belts, pulleys, tensioner, fluids and a few other things done. During my vacation in Hawaii I kept imagining my car up on the lift with the tires spinning in reverse and Damian's cute little English accent saying "we'll just turn the miles back and he'll be none the wiser" Btw....call Damian on 818 521-2332...it's his cell phone and invariably when he answers he'll have been working on something and the ringing phone will make him lift his head and smack something.....you can often hear a loud "thud" followed with "Blimey that's gonna leave a mark.....Fusion Motor Sports, this is Damian" Glad you got your new car sorted-out. Dollar-per-value I've found Damian unsurpassed. Having Damian over here ALMOST makes up our having to tolerate Hugh Grant.
Like I said, you guys in LALA land have it all....Damian included....now if I could just find someone on the West Coast of FL to look after my 360 ( when it arrives...).... Anyone....??
I've had several very good experiences with Damian @ Fusion. He is easy to work with, knows his stuff, etc. etc. A+ business partner.
These are not paid actors, and no animals were harmed in the making of this documentary !! Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Roger E you said " he did a Full 30k service in about 24 hours" are you sure you wanna make that statement ? " a full 30k service " seems like it would take ALOT longer than 24 hours
Well...maybe a little over 24 hours....but point is he busted his ass to do it for me - worked late, started eraly- so that it could be done in time to get on the truck to FL...and then charged me a very fair price on top of that. AND never made me feel like he was doing me a favor ( how rare is that these days ??? ) As for how long it takes - I guess you would have to ask Damian ...but as with anything in life, it depends on a) how prepared you are and b) how well you know what you are doing.....and don't forget he just did a VERY extensive PPI, so a lot of the prep work ( taking stuff off etc etc ) was already done....and Damian doesn't " pad "...he just does the job and charges for what he does.
I normally schedule 25-30 hours of shop time to do the 30k service on a 360. but as Roger said the car was already torn down for the PPI, and it was a little over 24 hours after he left the shop that the service was mostly finished.
Not to mention the fact that Damian has done five 360 belt-services in the last month, 6 counting mine....so he's got it down to where he could be blindfolded and still clock record time. I was at Damian's today looking over my car. I'm sorry if it sounds like boasting/bragging....but this guy really has it together. All his tools are laid-out, well organized and he moves with a methodical and concise nature that truly is the essence of poetry in frickin' motion. Damian reviewed several areas that needed some attention and others areas that will eventually need attention but could be passed on today. He explained everything, showed me in detail and let me make the educated decision. He talked me out of doing my brakes (30-35% left on the pads) and encouraged me to let the clutch go a bit longer (50% wear). I was ready to pop to get it done and he pulled me to my senses. It's very simple, much like I feel I am with my own business, Damian's "in it" for the long haul...he'd simply like to earn the loyal repeat business, do people right and sleep tight at night. His success is inevitable and his eventual waiting list deplorable. A full 30k-service in one day? Yes, could be done and was done. Look at the list and consider the PPI was already in motion....I think it's the dealers who want you to believe it's an elaborate ordeal, it certainly helps lube the ease at which we pay for it. Roger, I saw your car.....WOW, stunning!!!!! Very clean car and in great condition. I hope you don't mind...but I touched your Capristo!! Get your smile muscles stretched, I wouldn't want you to cramp-up upon arrival.
Hey Steve Thanks for the kind words on the car....mutual admiration society...I'm sure Damian told you I was drooling over yours ! When I grow up, I can hope to have a Spyder.... 100pc in agreement with your comments about Damian...for any doubters out there - go check him out ! In reponse to the Q re cost of a 30K service - suggest you give Damian a call - there are a bunch of variables in there depending on the car / condition. My car should be here early next week - then I'm out of town about 13 of the next 15 days ! My wife will be wondering why I'm so anxious to get home ( not ! )
I can't quote you a price (cause I don't know for sure)...but I can give you some additional ideas on that. The basic 30k service is simple....but it's also a HUGE matter of what ends-up being done and which issues you want to address in addition to the basic check-list a 30k-service carries. I don't mean to dwell on Damian...but when my car had a problem with it's top, he found a bracket had fractured, cracked and broke. The component alone was not available and I was faced with having to replace the whole entire framing structure of the top: beyond the cost of the part, just imagine the labor involved in doing all that. Damian instead surgically removed the defective component and had a shop next door custom-fabricate the identical component with better material...which he then surgically installed back in. Oh...I guess he only saved me about $4,200 instead of selling me a whole frame and scoring on some major service. My point: a lot of shops will lure you in with a low-ball figure on doing a 30k-service....the question you have to ask yourself is what are they going to do to make up for that low price once your car is on their rack and "under the knife". So the question is not "how much will Damian charge me for a 30k service"...but rather "How much will Damian save me by letting him to the 30k service"? The bottom line (and I hope Damian doesn't mind that I say this openly)....is that Damian's about 15%-20% below the cost of the dealer. He's comprable to any other independent service shop....but the man has a compulsive need to routinely fix small things at no charge and a moral desire to be honest and treat people right. Okay Damian....now you owe me lunch at Taco Bell But seriously, he's earned these words....
Heck, Steve, let me know about that lunch...I might just fly out there for it ! And Lamplighters down the road does a mean omelette for lunch !
Roger.... You mean to tell me you'd fly out here and NOT drive your Ferrari up the SoCal coast right next to the Pacific Coast Highway??? Dude...bring your wife, take a nice drive up the coast and enjoy some time in the lush & green hillsides of the Santa Ynez wine country. Make a weekend of it. Come back Sunday morning and check-out ********** at VCR. When you think about it....it's not like you really have a choice Or you can just stick around Florida until another hurricane sweeps through or a giant misquito swoops you away!
Hey Steve...Earthquake vs Mosquito...I think I know what I'll take...I'll be there WITH the boss if I get to borrow your car for the drive up ( or down ) the highway....
Roger. I safly loaded the car covered it and saw it on its way. The driver was leaving LA around 5pm Friday evening. Good luck and thanks D
Damian Thanks for eveything you have done to help me. I know to many this sound like a commercial for Fusion....but you have truly blown me away with both your expertise and your customer service. Wish I lived in the LA area...but just to get my car taken care of...outside of that, we're very happy here. Looking forward to getting the car...will let you know ! Roger
