Hiya, Just a quick question. If i was to be resident over in jersey and i was to buy a bentley gt in jersey. I would not have to pay any VAT cos there is no vat in jersey. But if i decided to sell the car 1week later (now second hand) to my brother in the uk would he be liable to pay VAT or any charges which could cost several thousand pounds, because if he dont technically you could save quite alot money. I know he defo would have to get the plates changed for a fee of about £150squid (re-registered with dvla)
By implication you weren't resident 48 hours ago when you asked the question I note you now seem to be Would it not be sensible therefore to ask the accountant who fixed this for you to answer to your question ?
Looks like he has been sniffed out here too. Read from post 600 onwards http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=159329&page=31

I wouldn't do that, but someone who does their utmost to pull the wool over peoples eyes, and deceive like you have would not stop at any length.
