I think this car was in So Cal a couple of years ago; used to show up at Crystal Cove........Family Classic Cars had it....initially telling people it was real. El Wayne would know.....

It looks "righter" than most reps, at least to my eye. Contrary to the ad, I thought it was Paul Vesty, not "Vestly", but I could be wrong. It may have an FIA Passport, but I bet it'll never be invited to the most exclusive event of all.....a 250GTO Reunion.

    Jack

PS: How the heck does a replica, no matter how accurate, get an FIA Passport, anyway?

FIA Passports are given on the basis of accuracy, not authenticity. If the car is, for the most part, exactly as it was in-period, it COULD be granted a passport. But if the car you've recreated ran, say, drums originally, and you've built it up with discs, then you'll have a problem getting it cleared to run in historic events. I'm summarizing of course, but I think this is the general idea behind the passport.

I thought the original story was that Vestly <?> had these cars built, ran them in some races and didn't tell anyone.

Either way, that's one hell of a 'replica'.

Thanks, Cris. I wasn't aware of that.

I think I'll go ahead and bid a million just to mess with 'em. ;>)
