This is the list of new products from tamiya fort the toy show. if you look under the scale model section......i don't know Japanese.....but, I recognize "1/12"....& "288 gto".......definitely not a RC car....
Does anyone has any info. on this?

I don't have any info, but it certainly looks like what we've all been hoping and waiting these many years for... I hope it becomes a reality, I for one, can't wait!!!

Edit: bable fish translation: 1/12 Ferrari 288GTO (semi mediation bull) - some of the others are marked "scale limitation" and "finished product" - I would assume these are denotations of the current progress on said model - so it would appear that it is, in fact, in the works. AWESOME!

Edit, again: google translation: 1 / 12 Ferrari 288 GTO (SEMIASSENBURU) - perhaps, like the Enzo - it means semi-assembled?

Oh My God! That's AWESOME! Surely that must be it... looks a very similar to the packaging of the Enzo. I MUST, MUST, have one! Anymore pics...?

EDIT: I'm not overly sure with what looks to be the seats... that'd be tricky to install I'd think... I remember how frail feeling my 1:12 Tamiya Enzo felt when I was putting it together... hopefully this won't have those issues. Still... I'm not too excited about having to put the seats in.

From the link Sarc posted: 23211 Ferrari 288GTO (1/12 scale, semi-assembled premium diecast model)

Here's a couple more, nestled in with other pics from the Toy Show: http://51653.rapidforum.com/topic=100170008609&search=&startid=2. Scroll down near the bottom of the page.

I have the 1:12 Tamiya Enzo already. The 288GTO is one of my top 5 favorite cars of all time, so I will surely get this one. The F40 and F50 are already out there in 1:12 - guess I'll be getting a new cabinet for my growing 1:12 collection...

I've got the Kyosho F40, Tamiya F50 and Tamiya Enzo... I've been waiting a long time for this to come out and complete my 1:12 collection.

It doesn't look like a prototype either. Looks like a production model ready to hit the shelves. Can't wait. Finally the "supercars circle" will be closed. Where can we preorder one?

After looking at the second pic I posted from the link that was posted... you can see the underside of the model - doesn't look like the seats will be secured with screws (no holes visible) - perhaps snap in seats? That prospect makes me feel a little better. I agree with Michael, it looks production ready.

I would think the seats are going to be on some kind of rails, like the Kyosho F40. If this is the case then you will probably have to put them all the way forward "click" them in and slide them back to their normal position.
Either way, it looks stunning. Look at that engine bay!!!! Man, I won't sleep now, until I find out how to preorder one. Anyone has an idea about pricing?

That's what the MSRP for the Yellow Enzo is on the Tamiya site. I've got the Kyosho 1:12 F40, Tamiya Enzo and F50 in 1:12 too and didn't pay that much for any of them - so I'd expect that when these are available they won't be that much - maybe 4 bills or so at most, I'd think... anyone else care to chime in on expected cost of this must have?

I think you are right on the money with that one. $350-$400.
The real question is WHEN, not How Much. Because lets face it. If they really turn out to be $600+, would you pass?

    Do you have the ORIGINAL?
    The real McCoy?
    The 250GTO?

I found a red 250GTO 1:12 for $60 a year ago and did not hesitate. Now this, and my 1:12 "super Ferraris" collection would be complete. Until of course Ferrari don't come out with Enzo's replacement.
I am just still kicking myself in the arse for not getting the F40"light weight". I only have the "regular one".
If you guys know anyone who is willing to sell his, let me know.

I've never gotten the 1:12 250 GTO... been close several times, but always got out bid, or took a pass.. should made it more of a priority, as now they are increasingly difficult to find and expensive (for no more detail than they've got).
