Further to our discussions of Rare Art Replica's (GMP) 1:8 330P4 model in this other thread in this section:

I am very pleased to say that I have just received an email from Mark Sanderson, General Manager of GMP Diecasts. :) Mark wrote:

Well that's just great. Throw another log on the fire... yet another stunning 1:18 that I'm going to have to buy this year. Several Elites, a pair of CMCs, a couple of Kyoshos, the 1:12 288, and now this. When it rains, it pours, I guess... :D

AAAAGGHHHHMMMM, you forgot the BBRs and I don't believe you about getting only "a couple" of Kyoshos. But you are right. If we don't get divorced this year, it will never happen. :D
Just to help you out a little, IXO just released something like 10-12 new models from their Ferrari Collection all at once = $400

It looks like the Joueff... there I said it. Of course, the CMC SWB looks like the Joueff too, but spanks it's @ss...

What F-cars is BBR putting out this year?

F430 and the 430 Spider. They have had the 512LM in the works for over a year now, but I don't know if they are going to release it this year or next. Also they are working on the 430GT2, but I don't expect them to be ready with it before '09.
    So at least two. =$600.

    Here is some quick math
    Two F430s BBR= $600
    Two CMCs (at least)=$600
    four Kyoshos (if not 5)=$500
    one Tamya 1:12 (estimate)$450
four (at least) HW Elite =$320

That is roughly $2500, not counting any Exoto surprises and any other scale (namely 1:43).
I better go do my taxes. ;)

I've got all the F430's I care to have at this point... so I guess I'm safe there. I'm probably underestimating by two cars though - My math put me at about 1800 - which seems on course, sice I'm not looking at the BBRs... still, one of, if not the biggest model years for me in a long time.

Sorry about that, Mark - that's at least the second time I've typed that incorrectly. :(

The other GMP sub-division which produces the high-quality large scale models, is of course ....

This is a good time to recognize on this forum what a great, stand-up kind of company that's GMP.

Last year I purchased on eBay, a used 250 GTO engine that GMP came out with. When I received it, it was missing a velocity stack and the sound chip was messed-up: whenever you shifted gears, the "start-up" sound would...sound. The seller wasn't very helpful so I called GMP and explained that I was not the original purchaser and wanted to know if the sound chip was user-replaceable.

The person I spoke to advised me to ship the engine to GMP and they would replace it with a new one, no questions asked. The rep said that GMP wants to make sure that the engine works properly, new or used.
That blew me away! They care 100% about the products they sell. That gives me and should give F-chatters all the confidence necessary when spending $100s on a car model.

This is going to put me in major debt. Now I have to get this one and get rid of the Joueff to pay for it.

I'm going to be getting the CMC 156's first though.
Before that, I have to buy a new Camera, so I may have to wait a while for these. D@MN IT! I need to get a real career that will support this years releases.

Bad comment about what? This model looks like it is going to be of really high quality and at a reasonable price. I can't wait to get my hands on one.
I am glad to see that someone finally grew the brains to issue a car that is historically significant, stunning looking and long awaited in quality form, from collectors everywhere. It blows me away that every company out there released ten different versions of the GT40 , but we had to wait 20 years for someone to make the 330P3/4.
Also I would like to see in a couple of years how many people would still claim that the Joueff's 330P3/4 is "their favorite model".

+1. The only thing that I would like to add is the BBR 512bbLM. If they come up with it this year this is.
By the way does any one have a confirmed release list from BBR for '08?

Somebody called? :) Okay, okay, I admit I made a mistake in the other thread. But like the GMP spokesman said, the examples shown in Nürnberg weren't the finished products. Even better, this one is going on my wishlist for sure!

    Best, Peter

p.s. Has anybody seen the MG Model Plus 206 SP Dino in 1/18 scale? see www.scuderiamodelli.com Yet another one for your list!

The photos are of the first pre-production sample, so the operating features are just like the production cars will be, but the decoration and panel fit will be better. However the photos don't show that the fuel doors also open as do the caps under them.
    Thanks,

Welcome to (one of) your P4 thread(s), Mark ! :)

Apologies for not having replied to the remainder of your email. Have allowed myself to be side-tracked several times this weekend.

(Spending way too much time on FerrariChat, for one thing.)
