Holy crap... I can't believe I didn't see this before. In Fchat, we can use the standard vB syntax to place images "inline" with out postings. So here is image #1, a picture I took while skiing Les Contamines in Switzerland sometime in the mid 1990's. Image Unavailable, Please Login . and here is attachment #2, a cruise to Alaska that Mrs. JRR and I took in 2002: Image Unavailable, Please Login Now, think how useful that will be for the "how to" threads? Damn... 4 years and I never saw this. Bet-ya didn't know this worked? Eh?
Hit the "QUOTE" button on my above post, and check out the syntax for "ATTACH". Once you upload your images, just roll-over the URL of the attachment to get the attachment ID. See bottom of this page: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/misc.php?do=bbcode#attach. Now, for grins and giggles, let's try a MS Word document, then a picture. Here's the MS WORD doc: Image Unavailable, Please Login . . [size=+2]and here is the picture:[/size]: Image Unavailable, Please Login [size=+2]with some text below. (taken Xmas day 2006)[/size]:
Hmm, test: This, fortunately, is not my car Image Unavailable, Please Login A little rough in the motor bay Image Unavailable, Please Login That's not supposed to be there.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Yeah, it's got some problems. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I remember tinkering with this a while back, and I remember that I had a similar "Eureka!" moment. But seeing as how most of the pictures I post are of the thread-bomb variety, and having little actual value and speaking for themselves without captions, I had long forgotten how to do it.
Let's try it. Bigfoot runs quickly through the woods: Image Unavailable, Please Login To get home in time to watch hot Mexican babes on Univision: Image Unavailable, Please Login Then spends the rest of his evening eyeing his Bogus Wagner baseball card: Image Unavailable, Please Login
When you get it figured out, call me! Image Unavailable, Please Login Better yet, buy a Vette! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Guess I am stupid.... Post reply button Reply to thread screen comes up Click Manage attachment button and box pops up to browse your pics or upload from url Click browse , find pic within computer and upload pic The pic uploads and displays under Current Attachments and the name of the pic shows up---then what???
Robbie - Roll the mouse over the attached filename and read the "attachment ID" from the link that it shows. THEN, in your actual post use the text where the "nnnnnn" is your attachment ID.
This is what I am seeing now. Seems that the normal method is 'safer', in that one knows others can see the image rather than just a filename. Image Unavailable, Please Login
