On the suggestion of a respected board member and friend on this and other boards, I contacted Marc Yahr about his silver/stripe car owned recently by another board member. Seemed odd he was selling so soon after getting the car in Dec but hey, I have been looking for just such a car. This was on the 28th of Feb.
We struck a deal, agreed upon a price. He sent me 11,000kb worth of pictures. He sent me his bank account number, wiring etc and the name and contact of his attorney so we could establish an escrow account. The only piece I was waiting on before wiring the money was the diagnostic readouts on clutch wear and rotor and pad wear.
Yesterday, after all this he calls me up and says, " I have good news and bad news. The good news is everything checked out great. (this is the best part) and they said it was the finest cs they have seen!!"

Of course, I am totally excited by this news and the prospect of scoring the cs I wanted most. Then he says, "The bad news is, I ran into a friend and he offered me $8k less than you did for the car."
Whew, thats not too bad, I thought it was going to be really bad like a blown head gasket or something.
Then he says, " And I sold it to him"
Like a dj, sliding a needle across a record, my mind comes to a screeching halt. Did i hear him correctly? "I had to, he is a buddy and I store my cars at his building", he added.
All I could say is, "You're kidding me aren't you, we had a deal"
I could no longer listen as he, can you believe this, went back to talking about what a great report the dealer gave him.

So for all you guys who don't read text and are skimming down here for the juicy new pics of my silver striped strad with black wheels and interior,
    here is the pic..........

    Nice isn't it.
Oh, you can't see it. Well shizzle bro, neither can I.

Maybe if I clean the sleaze off my camera lense it will come into focus better.

Bummer, but hey, that's life! You will find the right car (again) sooner or later.
How long have you been looking for this particular car?

Hi Bill, thanks, since I sold my titanium car last summer, this color combo has been my first choice,
so I have looked at a lot of cars. Its just a car and I am philisophical about it and keep perspective but hate being yanked around by careless and inconsiderate people like Marc. What a waste of time and energy.

Very unfortunate, John, I'm sorry to hear it. I've always known you to maintain a positive attitude through trying situations and this is no different. In spite of the immense frustration a situation like this can bring about, you're still able to joke about it. I know you're pissed, but your resolve will hold strong, and a better CS will be around the corner.

Sorry to hear about the silver car. That definitely sux! And, if you did have a firm deal, pending a PPI, then it wasn't very nice of the seller to bail on you. BTW, who paid for the PPI? If you did, you certainly should get that back.

However, you have been offered several other cars, and you have for some reason flinched on buying them. Perhaps the seller mistakenly misread your cautious, price driven, and 'wait to see what happens with another deal' attitude as insincere??? Who knows? Perhaps he will post his view of things, which although won't get you the car, may provide clarity??? Either way, that's a sick feeling when you've finally decided on the leap, and someone yanks the rug out from under you..............

Did you say his buddy offered him $8,000 LESS then you did? Why would he tell you that? Seems like a rub???

Fred, maybe he will. Part of my "cautious" attitude was relative to my really wanting the silver/stripe car the most. And in this case, we were way beyond cautious attitude. As I said, I had spoken with his attorneys office, have his bank account number etc. You don't give you bank account number to someone who you are unsure about.
Either way, its done, I have vented and its time to move on.

wow....that's really weak!!! The way everything was handled...very unprofessional. If this is the same dude on 6speed who used to be marc996, miamimarc, then he cant keep a car more than like a month, etc. makes no sense to me...but to each his own.

    Hope you find your CS!

Definite bummer. Not cool on his part. But, the good news is that at least you know where there's another very nice CS that you could probably get.

    Moderator(s),

Marc has threatened me with legal action if I do not remove his last name. I have no idea how to edit a post made several hours ago, so if someone knows how to do this, pls remove Marcs last name. You are a class act Marc, no last name needed.

    JOhn,

I too had a deal to buy Marc's car. he welshed yesterday as well on me. how amusing, but not fit for the f community.

He pretended he didnt know about the damage to his car but i confirmed with Dave at Premier that he did know, and He had previously presented for sale as undamaged prior to me mentioning it on 6speed [he had the thread removed asap:)].

i have edited this thread to add marcy-marc's last name it's YAHR. come try me out marcy-marc

So sorry to hear that John. That's does not sounds like Marc at all. I just can't comprehend as to why he would sold the car for $8K less that you had offered.
