After a minor surgery both door sills are now removed.

I have already bought those stainless steel "inserts" from that bloke in Canada and now I will try to convince my brother in law that he has to make the new sills for me.

The question is only what kind of threat I will have to use.

He is quite smaller than me but he lives some 30 miles away so he might get away with it by just keeping out of my way.

We just have to wait and see.

Does anyone have a better idea? Apart from the kevlar sills, which are far too expensive, is there anyone out there who makes those sills????

As you can see from the photos the old ones look like ****.

Just have to have new ones.

    Thanks Jamie,

I knew though.......I saw it coming already last year........lots of rust.

However, after reading the threads I thought it would be difficult to get them off since they were supposed to be glued to the structure underneath. That was not the case here. The only trouble were the screws. They were so rusty there was nothing to put the screwdriver in.

Got them off though, only trouble is lost them "squarish" plastic nuts as well.

Just wonder if Daniel got those as well?????

Yep, I will sure mail some photos when your plates are in their places.

All the best and Happy New Year,

Carbon fiber sills are readily availible & will never rust again. They also look far better than the O.E.M. ones.

I have made myself a set of 355 door sills in 6060-T6 aluminum .... :D ............ now I just need to get them powdercoated in nero ............. :)
