The Shah of Iran Miura

Last I remembered it was in the hands of a very friendly F-Chatter that regularily posted here.......the fellow lived in New Orleans........this was pre-flood however.

Is it still with us ? IMHO it is/was one of the most beautiful examples out there at the time he owned it.

Thank you. I'm here and the car is better than ever. The last few years the car has been with Gary Bobileff who went back through the car and brought everything up to 100 points. It recently won best of show Lamborghini at this years Celebration car show.

The car runs as good as it looks. As Joe Sackey has documented, the factory built this engine with alot more horsepower than stock. (Joe, has the original bench test of the engine performed 3 days after I was born). Bobilieff has the car singing. It extremely fast. I drive an F430 as a daily driver, and this car feels super fast to me every time I get in it. The car is kept in my hanger with my collection of vintage lamborghinis (some are shown in the photo below). 4870 lives with about every model made between 67 and 90. (except a jalpa and an islero-still hunting). Below are some recent photos:

John,

That is one amazing and very interesting collection, congratulations.

Out of interest, why no Diablo?

regards,

Matthew

This pic was taken last month. The first and only time in about 5,000 miles and 7 years 4870 has ever let me down:

Bad battery/starter, $250 dollar fix:

Broke down in the worst neighborhood in New Orleans. Pictured is my pilot, who is a reserve cop who came as backup!

Not terribly interested in the cars after Chrysler. But I do have a 1990 LM002, so I am getting a Diablo to round out the collection. I have a contract on the Diablo roadster R (only one made). Some cars are not pictured. I'll send better photos when I have them together (its not easy keeping a set of vintage lamborghinis running and all in one spot.

John you should post some pics of the custom interior on your Countach too. I really liked the pattern on the leather that Bobileff put in.

Don't the seats still have that perforated pattern? I thought that was pretty neat.

I found the Miura, to be the most reliable exotic I ever had. It never broke down one time. This included several fun runs, where it was driven fast, and in the heat.

The car was as reliable as a Corolla.
