Ferrari Recalls F430 Spider

WASHINGTON — Ferrari is recalling 1,950 of its 2005-'07 F430 Spider cars. A defect involving the hydraulic hoses for the convertible top could cause smoke and fire in the engine compartment, rendering the vehicle inoperable, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Thanks for posting this. I have been having a problem with trying to get the top up. It takes a while like the pressure is having to build up and the last time I washed it, I noticed that some sort of fluid had gotten on the right engine cover towards the front of the engine. I must have a very small drip up there. Since I had just done the annual I was going to wait until I needed something at the dealer (150miles away). I will call my dealer next week.

Peter at the Auto Gallery called me a few days ago to tell me about this and to bring my car in.
