June 28th - Benefit for Fallen Oakland Police Officers

Guys,

This one is truly as good of a cause as you will find. I spoke to Mr. Ellis today about the event.

Oakland Police Officers will be present along with the heads of their Trust Fund group who will be there colllecting the entrance fees and selling $1 raffle tickets. They will also have their SWAT truck there along with a bunch of their patrol cars. I am assuming we could probably think of some pretty cool photo-ops for a small donation to the Fund.

In addition, the Brentwood Police Officers will be there with their SWAT truck and patrol cars. A radio station will be there covering it and there will be BBQ available for purchase on site. There are other restaurants next to the location. We will have as many reserved (roped off) parking spaces as we need and I am assuming (due to the audience in attendance) that it will be REALLY secure parking, although everything, as always, is at your own risk (just covering my tail here). ;-)

There will be 4 awards (with trophies) given out but the catagories are TBD.

Let's make this happen and show these guys (and their families) our thanks!!

June 28th, Check in @ 10AM, Show from Noon - 4PM
$10 Entry Fee per Car, 4 Class Trophies
$1 Raffle
All Proceeds Benefit OPOA Trust Fund

I think they have like 30 cars already signed up of all sorts. For this one, I would go if it was just me.

The raffle for tickets at $1.00. Are those speeding tickets?

The only problem with the date is that it conflicts with the Palo Alto Concours.

If I am not going to that I may be able to come to this.

This is actually all of them. ;-)

Don't know about the other models but there are 33 V8 TT Esprits in all of California. I know 11 of them. Considering there were only 636 V8s ever imported to the U.S., it makes it a pretty impressive number. Especially when so many have been wrecked, burned, etc..

I may attend and either drive the 348 spyder, GTR or the 993 twin turbo. We, meaning the tactical team I am on raised over 20k for the Officers.
