This does look like a great event judging by the pictures I saw of last years. Not to many chances to see a mint ATS in the Great Lakes area!! Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2010-Chicago April 2010 at Continental Autosport Ferrari/Maserati
ATS 2500 GT Allemano Coupe, among the rarest of the rare, even when compared to a Ferrari Lusso. Built between 1963-64 only about a dozen cars were made. The World's first mid-engined sports car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is a shot of an ATS, possibly the prototype at Van Nuys back in 1966. Ed Niles owned the car then. I wonder if this is the same car? Ed says he owned 2 of them, one of them a GTS racing version. They only made a dozen of these cars or so, of wich 2 or 3 were the GTS version. The story Ed told was that he bought both of his ATS's from one of the ATS principles after ATS had closed. Do you have the chassis number to the Minnesota ATS street version?? Can I post your ATS photo in the old photos section for ED Niles to look at? I hope that ATS owner brings it to the Ferrari Club event at Road America(ATS was made by Ferrari people!) best, Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo 2010-Chicago April 2010-Continental Autosport Ferrari/Maserati Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's not the same ATS. Here is a front photo Ed Niles posted taken in 1966. Ed's is maybe the prototype ATS after the hood was modified. Your show looks like a great event. I hope to make it someday. Tom Tanner/Ferrari Expo -Strictly 43rd Revival Chicago April 2010 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi guys, I'm going to plan to attend this event with my Modena. It would give me an opportunity to me some of you fine folks. While my 360 is nothing out of the ordinary, it should get me through the gate, correct? Couple of questions, is the event outdoors or indoors? If outdoors, does it proceed regardless of poor weather (rain)? Any registration fees to attend/show a vehicle? And lastly, roughly how many cars in attendance last year? Steve
Your 360 will be more than welcome (rain or shine). No fees or advance registration required. Not sure on the number of participants but it is well into three digits. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I will be there again this year.. The show is absolutely amazing and I wait all Summer for this event..
Thanks Tim! It will be nice to finally meet you. Hopefully we get nice weather for the event and a good turn out.
This year’s event, like previous years, will be phenomenal and I just can't wait! People, you need to show up and allow everyone to enjoy your Italian iron (or CF). This year will BLOW all other years away and set a new standard that "We in the Midwest have enough Passion to Fuel the rest of the World". There are going to be some amazing vehicle at the show this year; a must see! Like last year, the ATS a 1932 Alfa P3 and a ton of other sweet rides. Not to mention the motorcycles, a ton of very cool and unique bikes. Get the word out... Ciao, and see you soon! Dan Schaefer, Founder
