Anyone driven the new one? is the extra 20hp noticeable? The 4.2L always felt "sluggish" to me. cheers

the 4.7 is amazing its not just the extra hp its the extra torque that make it so much better just drive one and you wont be able to buy a 4.2

Just bought one; the roadster variant:

It is ANYTHING but sluggish, and you're talking to someone who put 5000 miles on his 599. And the power is actually usable. Great car; lots of fun.

Yes, the extra 20 horsepower and 40 something extra torques are definitely noticeable.

Very nice acquisition. I hope to be in the market for an '06+ V8 Vantage in the coming year. I feel a lot more comfortable & keen towards obtaining one now that there's a dealership here. They look so damn good in numerous colors in different settings, I'm at a loss as to which color-combo' to pursue (though, I do have my preferences).

I'd be keen to hear back regarding your ongoing maint'/service experiences, as well as general upkeep in terms of reliability/dependability & overall quality/fit-finish.

Thanks, and once again- very nice ride!

FWIW, I've had my 09 Vantage Coupe (6sp) 4.7 for 6 months and 5000 miles now from new.

Except for the window trim coming off and a rattle from the navigation door (all addressed promptly under warranty) - there are absolutely no issues from this car. The early 06-07 models may have had lots of issues - as reported on www.amoc.org and other owners' sites... but the later cars are really well sorted.

Thanks for the link, I'm now gonna lurk there regularly. I had planned to look into acquiring an '06 or '07 micro/low-mileage example, merely due to the relatively attractive price-point. However, reliability/dependability are paramount to me (well relatively speaking, this is a British marque after'all), as I plan to drive what I may ultimately acquire (7.5k-10k miles/year).

Obviously, if a later-model is more well sorted, I'll have to give that due consideration.

Osiris, you may consider waiting until an 08 comes down to where the 06-07s are where they are now.

Aston does not really do huge facelifts, they update the cars every year albiet under the skin.

There were significant updates in 08 for the Vantage in terms of reliability and build quality.

09s all have a different clutch design, 4.7 liter engine with more Hp/torques. They also have an optional sport pack as well as well as an interior facelift of subjective desirability.

If you plan to keep the car for awhile, it will be worth it to get at least an 08. Good luck.

My 09 has been flawless apart from some minor trim issues quickly fixed under warranty.
Can't speak for the reliability of older cars but other owners on amoc have reported various issues ranging from doors not locking to trim issues to gearbox maladies.

I don't own one, but my dad took delivery of one the first 09 Vantage Roadsters shipped to america back in early october last year. Midnight Blue over SandStorm. Absolutely beautiful.

We had gotten to drive an 06 Vantage coupe, it was fun and quick. But the 09 is noticeably quicker. And the roadster lets you hear the engine much better, the car sounds amazing once its over 4000 RPM. Then you got to take it under a bridge, it will hurt your ears.

But sad to say that we are taking delivery of a Ferrari California (which is a good thing) in the summer, but we may have to get rid of the Vantage.

    Thanks for the compliments.

My only "issue" was a rattle so minor coming from between the seats that it took my dealer about 5 minutes to find a loose washer and tighten the bolt. I don't think they even billed Aston for the warranty service. 2300 miles thus far in 2.5 months.
