Recently visited Barber (http://www.barbermuseum.org/) in Birmingham, AL and BMW (http://www.bmwusfactory.com/#/zentrum/1244/) in Spartanburg, SC.

Barber was just a museum tour but I did see a few Porsche driving school (http://www.porschedriving.com/Sports-Driving.aspx) folks on track.

At BMW we missed the factory tour but spent time at the visitors center (i.e. Zentrum).

I'll post pics in a few posts bundled by theme; sorry in advance for the quality but they're far better than the cell phone pics I usually post. :)

    Enjoy.

I need to pay the museum a visit. The pics are great and it has a lot of interesting stuff. First class from the looks of things. I heard it was but I haven't seen pics before.

It's a great place to go! I really enjoyed my visit.

The best view of the museum however is through a 911 windscreen while doing the Porsche Driving School! A few buddies and I did the school a few years ago. Whether you own a P car or not... it's a blast and you learn a lot.

Looks like a great place - hope I'll be able to visit it one day. A couple of the cars have been to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which I do go to, so maybe more will come here.

The Ferrari 158 was here in 2004; but I think if it had realy made 240 bhp as the signboard claims, Surtees would have walked the '64 WDC instead of winning it on the last lap of the season! I'd say 210 bhp would be more realsidic.

Interesting point about the bhp. The display makes it a bit more murkier...the sign by the car states "248 bhp @ 10,500 rpm" but the sign with the engine pieces reads "240 bhp At 11,000 rpm".
