Just curious. The only pic I've ever seen is this one (way back on the right). Image Unavailable, Please Login
GTB in that color, from the 2003 auction Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Cool color! I'm betting that any of the ones that color were painted "Resale Red" shortly after hitting US shores.... I LOVE the non Red colors on the GT4! (Just don't tell my car...LOL!!!) JIM
Green is waaaaaay under rated. I find it very refreshing. Don't get me wrong, I love red/blk, red/tan, etc. , but isn't it nice to see a Ferrari in a unique color?
I know you were being funny... but to answer you, Germoglio is Italian for "bud, sprout, shoot" hence, a light "earthy" green. See attachment. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I wanted that fibreglass GTB badly........ It's owner was a well known collector in Europe, but shot to death arguing with thieves that wanted his F40. The bank let the interior mildew, in storage, but it would have cleaned up, IMO.
I just get home from the gym and physical therapy - sit down to see whats up on FCHAT and when i saw this my EAS protein drink came out through my nose... Thanks, I needed a good laugh, but now I need to clean up the mess. Rick
The cars at the 2004 FFQC New Orleans were in chronological order in the 328/308 Section... It was quite interesting to walk past rows of red/ten 328s, then the older red/tan QVs and 'i's......then this end is the "old girls".....carbed NON CAT cars. As you can see there was black, a silver/black, the green one (Platinum Winner, he even put on a mint Steering Wheel after parking!) and finally my blue/cream 1977.
...with the muddy tires, and whiskey bottles jammed under the seat!!!! At least I could blame the tires on driving thru the flower bed at Longview Gardens
Mine started out life Dino Metallico Blu! She is now "Resale Red" Although I LOVE my GT4, it sure would look good in Blue or Yellow! JIM
By agreement, Brits race in green cars, French race in blue cars and Italians race in red cars. And people buy cars to emulate their country champ. But Ferrari had a uniform mix of road car colors until Magnum PI changed the order of road cars to predominantly red. Now if the producers of MagnumPI ordered a PukeGreen car for the series, we'd all be driving them. Instead, Lamo chose PukeGreen for it's lead color along with PukeOrange and PukePink.
+1 It just struck me funny also, I LOLed until I had tears. I think the color is fine if a bit dated, but the response...
I think that you mustn't forget that the drug culture of the 70's enjoyed all kinds of puke like colors which by now have found their way out of fashion. Magnum is not fully responsible. Helmut
Never seen this on a GT4 befor... A Ferrari AND Dino badge... I don't think this is original, or is it? Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is a Ferrari service bulletin specifying several "upgrades" to new cars. One of them is to add the Ferrari badge. The service bulletin does not say to remove the Dino badge, I believe. So that is "correct", but rare. My car had the Dino badge removed and the divot Bondoed, just the Ferrari badge remains.
I like the variety of colors used in the 1970s. I find a row of red 3X8s about as interesting as a row of silver Boxsters . . .
