Finally had a chance to take a few pics, although the season tends to make them look as dull as the sky ... 03/2001 Grigio Titanio over Sabbia leather, 12'000 miles and a few gremlins I am still learning to get acquainted to and determine whether they are real or just ghosts.
oh - that gunmetal gray is JUST GORGEOUS regardless of the weather patterns. how about some interior shots? doody.
Just have one thus far, it is posted in somewhere towards the bottom of http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2299 I think that there is actually a more metallic version of grigio titanio, I believe (but am not sure) that this is the color used in Nick Cage's 550 in the Family Man movie.
i'm fairly sure the TFM car was straight-up Grigio Titanium as opposed to your Canna di Fucile Metallico. it's not as dark as yours. how different is the gunmetal gray from the dark gray used in the 80s on the TRs (i'm thinking of benjet's car - which is stunning)? doody.
Is St Anton in Switzerland or Austria ? How far are you from there ? Whats the best skiing in Switzerland ? Thanks
Funny, Wax, i was thinking the EXACT same thing... i totally agree; the picture from that angle shows lines on the car i've not seen before... The hood, especially... Anyone one else think of the Enzo at all when they saw picture #3...?
Hi Doody, Unless there is a well organized, long planned conspiracy on the topic, I am fairly sure that my 550 is Grigio Titanio, that's at least what the PPG stickers say under the hood ... I believe that Gunmetal grey is darker with bigger metallic flakes. If I'd had the choice, maybe I would've taken it over Titanium. Anyone around with a gunmetal car ? I think that the typical titanium color used by Aston Martin for the Vanquish PR is the same PPG ref as Ferrari's Gunmetal grey. Thanks to the others for the kind compliments, I was trying to capture the curves of the hood as you can see them standing by the windshield or sitting inside the car. Neighbours, who already had good reasons to believe i am a nut, must have felt relief to see me standing on a shaky ladder to take pics of my new car ;-)
my bad then, shark. i guess the couldiness made it look darker than i've seen titanium before. in fact, now that i look at the pics again (esp. the top-down) i think gunmetal is even darker than that. sorry! doody
Yup I am ! ) Lucky enough to have a screemin' sunshine blast car and the quiet & classy brute force of the Maranello.
I've never really noticed the hood from that angle that you got it at in pic 2. That's a great shot, nice car.
Strange... never before noticed the great light and colour reflections and shades that the Grigio Titanio shows. Amazing pictures, you must have had difficult times to keep the paint in such good condition since 2001. And how long did it take you to clean the car for the pics? This is probably the most beautiful 550 I've seen.
Ze: Absolutely stunning color combination. The overcast really brings out the depth of the color, and your angles definetly don't hurt! Re susp. issues: I should have a resolve very shortly. I will keep you posted. --Dan PS: That is a big shark! "The Maranello is sexy, sharky, and fabulously discreet. A bodybuilder poured into Armani businesswear" --CAR May 2000
