Any ideas on luxury car storage in Adelaide, South Australia? Need 24 hour access too....
I'm going to need storage for one car in melbourne soon too, so if anyone knows of anywhere, please let me know. I'm in Toorak....but it doesn't have to be next door so to speak.
I'm interested too. I've been looking for the right property to come up for sale in somewhere like Kent Town. I figured I could find a few people who'd like a secure home for their spare cars. Something with rear lane access to keep the comings and goings discreet. Let's see if this thread unearths some ideas.
When i built the house i'm in at the moment, I planned it for at least 6 toys with room for another 6.
Best idea i've scene of late is a factory that was a workshop with hoists and security that was bought in a Trust foundation.
there is definitely a market for spare car storage,...mhh that Kent Town idea is ideal. there is U-storeit in Norwood but they are not 24 hours
The place I had breakfast yesterday had a garage next door that was hydraulic. First commercial building I've seen with that facility for cars. Was strange to see a car disappear vertically into the ground.
Tell me about it. Will know how much I have to spend exactly when I buy my next house. I wont be doing it unless I can do it properly. And I am VERY lucky as I have all the contacts that can build it A LOT cheaper for me.
when I needed a parking space I put my car here for a few months; pretty good, secure and had workshop facilities etc. www.chequeredflagstables.com.au/secure_car_wine_storage_home_page.html
I believe mhh was meaning not using a company. Empty commercial warehouse, BTB security, cameras. Niceeeee. There are plenty around in Australia, here is a private one I know of in Sydney. Above is also a garage for total privacy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was thinking of making a property investment, expanding my own garaging options and starting a small-time upmarket car storage business in one move. I'll make it my new year's resolution. For every person who wants to build a new house with extensive garaging, there are 10 others who are happy in their current house but have a growing car collection and need/want storage. Like all real-estate plays, getting the location right is the main thing. Marketing would be a cinch. The business wouldn't need to make a lot of money - so long as it can wash its face, I'd be happy.
What's the going rate for such storage in Sydney/Melb and what are people willing to pay in Adelaide for something like this.
This isn't quite the idea but it gives you some numbers. Not sure what Adelaide market price is but always less than Melbourne. http://www.zag.com.au/valetservice.php I'm thinking unmanned, 24 hour access, personal swipe cards, washing bays, CCTV, etc
I've found a site but it's too big/expensive. If I could offload the Fullarton Road frontage, it might work. http://www.rvjordan.com.au/pol/property/search.asp?f_PropertyID=1469730&xsl=4884&f_st=1
Bloody hell, $500 a month to let a car sit there and collect dust! Im definitley in the wrong game. Looks the goods. $3.2M, but will take another $1M to set it up REAL nice.
Here's a question...... Which is preferable - 24/7 access or on-site supervision? I'd want the former more than the latter but how would others feel?
On site supervision means you will have to pay someone wages etc etc. 24/7 access is the ONLY way to go. If you have security cameras in there to keep an eye on everything, then I reckon 24/7 access via a single big elec roller door will not be an issue. And I am sure you will only have .5% of people that will want to go and get their cars at 2 am to go for a drive anyways. So 24/7 access is the go. Im quite sure not too many will drive in and out in the early hours of the mornings.
Yes, back to base security, auto-closing door, CCTV on webcam etc should do the trick. Guys need to be able to get their cars in and out on a Sunday after all.
