Mark That's a bummer. I have a 166 Sport but it is a driver, not mint. Why do you want such a common car, there are 3 of them? Why not go for a 412S ? Now that is exclusive. If you turned up to an event in a 166 Sport there could be another 2 there, but with the 412S you would be the only one there.

if I had to choose between a 250GTO and the 166 I'd take the 166 ..... and cry for not taking the 250GTO But all reports are that the 166 is a sweet little car , perfectly balanced by all accounts

The current edition of Sports Car Market magazine has a report on the 166 # 0024M that was sold at the RM auction in Arizona in January. Jon Shirley wrote in to comment on his experience with his 166. Part of what he wrote was: "One of the best features of the car is that it has a lot of room in the cockpit-unlike almost all of the 1950's race Ferraris that are very cramped. There is ample leg room and room to the side by your feet to store the rain gear you are likely to need in a topless car. That comfort has made it a favourite rally car of ours and we have done several thousand miles in it including the Mille Miglia. It is my wifes most-loved Ferrari in our collection." Sounds like it's a keeper then.
