With Compo TS's NLA, and HRE and BBS no longer making GTO style wheels, and me needing new tires, I've been sorting through my remaining options. In as much as keeping my stock 16" wheels in use being the best scenario, I am concerned about their replacement cost in the event of something unforeseen happening. I also want to go to a 17" tires.

    So I found these folks:

    http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/

They make a 3 piece GTO/F40 style wheel with either cast centers (see their F40 wheel) or machined centers (see their Billet 11 wheel).

Is anyone here running these wheels? Or has anyone dealt with this company? Looking for some feedback on dealing with them and with the quality/fit of the wheel. Especially with me in the US and them being in the UK, I'd like to know if the transaction went well enough or if there were any issues.

Thus far, they have been very helpful conversing over email.

    Thanks,
    Phil

P.S. It's too bad the Superperformance repro wheel doesn't come in 17". For the cost you probably couldn't go wrong.

I have the Compomotives, and from the Image pictures, they look identical. Even the center cover is the same. If you can work out the logistics, they sure look nice, and might even be the same wheel as the Compomotives.

Width and offset are your big points when ordering.

Thank you. I just read all the gory details....yikes.

Given the distance and complexities with customs if they have to be returned, I don't think it is worth the risk.

Did they come with the cars, or did you acquire the wheels from Image? If so, what was it like dealing with them?

I specified the wheels both times.

For the boxer I sent a spline drive to just make sure the drive fit properly

With the BB you will haveto apply a little silicon to the chrome disc to hold it properly inplace. Normaly it fits tight on the spinner, but the thichness of the wheels is not the same
so this is the only compromise.

They are pretty good to deal with.

Interesting. The 308 is just a 5 bolt, no spinners/splines, so I would imagine the only sizing issue will be bolt length perhaps. Any issues with the 348 wheels?

Seems like Image is the only game left in town for F40/GTO look wheels....not sure if there are any other options.
