We all know these cars are hot and it doesn't help that there seems to be an abundance of heat coming INTO the cabin from the front end. I did seal up a few small areas under the front bonnet, but there is a few more.

Anyone do a good seal up of the front of the car to keep all that hot air off the radiator out of the cabin?

I'm guessing a new underpan that was vented would help tremendously as well.

    thanks

I saw a louvered pan to replace the lower under body cover so I measured it up and took a ride over to home depot. It just so happens you can buy a hot air return grill that is just about the same size. So I painted it black and drilled a few holes in it and bolted it up. I did the whole thing for under $10.

    1) Is your bonnet foam sound? It's function is to route air through the radiator and out without it getting into the pre-cabin area. When it deteriorates, air is allowed to circumvent the radiator, reducing it's efficacy, and to heat the area ahead of the dash and leak into the cabin.
    2) Have you double checked that the heater valves completely turn off water flow to the heater cores?

I have both the the louvered plate and the foam under the bonet but I'm still getting heat inside the cabin. There's got to be a fix for this.

Buy a 328??:D...the GT4 cabin was like a furnace but the 328 is not as bad.Obviously the 328 has no roof so the heat escapes from there.

i've got the louvered panel, all under hood foam in perfect condition, have sealed all joints and passenger floor with dynamat insulation. it's still bloody hot on the passenger side. seems like the heater isn't shut off.there was a thread on the heater valve which targeted a small valve in the body of the heater valve. i think looking there is the next logical step.

Underside vented trys are about as much use as an ashtray on a harley.

Before doing the under bonnet mods on a 27 deg day here in perth my car was to hot in the cab to drive.... now all the hot air is deflected out under the fenders and out throught the top fender vents it may be extreme to some folks but i can say it's dropped the cab temp by 5-10 deg lick of black paint and she sweet mate!! piece of p#ss to convert back to standard for the new owner when i'm ready

foam is in good condition all around. don't know why anyone would suggest a louvered panel would do nothing. The later QV and 328's had them in the hood. Putting it on the bottom would have a similar effect. But the bottom would be more like the hood louver where the louvers stick up into the 'hot spot' and direct that hot air out underneath the car.

no, haven't checked that but should be easy enough. If hot air is coming out the vents that would be a sure sign.
