Given my inability to predict the future, I could vote for both of them and still wind up wrong.

if mercedes finally gets their stuff together MS could be a real threat. I fear red bull will destroy everyone once again this year. i really hope it's not another run away season.

If Merc has improved on their chassis I do not see why either driver could not fight for a podium this season.

Michael - but the car will be the deciding factor. Renault (now Lotus) has lost, driven out, or dismissed much of the engineering talent that took them to two WDCs and had them running in the top ten in 08 and 09. Some of them are at MB now! ;-). Meanwhile, MB was loading up on talent last year.

Yeah. You said it. Lotus lost many key people when Bell left because Bell essentially took them with him. Lotus will build again though as they seem serious about doing so.

How I feel as well. Keep in mind MS, despite his age, has "shaken off the rust" by now. Kimi has yet to do that and I think the Benz will be more competitive than the Renault. MS has already been knocking on the door. Even in his first year back a car failure by one of his rivals would have put him on the podium on a couple occasions.

Most likely but it all depends on the cars.
These days even the best driver needs a lot of good luck to win without a top tier car.
Until now MB hasn't been one.

IMHO an equally interesting question would have been:

Will Rosberg or Grosjean get to the podium before their more famous teammates?

    My take:
    Nico: yes
    Romain: no
