Hey, i have been wondering why 308's and QV'S have the "Pinin" design badge on the bottom of the driver side panel, but none is present on the passengers side.
there are photos of some cars with the Pinin badge on the passenger side, was this added by owners? perhaps this is a sign that paint work was done?

any thoughts or opinions as to whether or not there is supposed to be a "Desigo di Pininfarina" on the passengers side ? :) thanks!

I've only seen them on the driver's side. If I'm not mistaken they are on the passenger side on the 512BB's though??

They are applied to the left side only so I am told. If you see one on the right hand side I would be suspect.

    Suspect of what exactly?
I personally hate unsymmetrical designs (which is why I like the McLaren F1's centre seating layout) and I would put an extra badge on the bare side for aesthetic reasons.

I would be inclined to do so myself but when inspecting a car to buy I would hope it was put there for asthetics and not mistakenly during repair from an accident.

    I would prefer without any...

The Pininfarina badge was attached on the passenger's side only on the Vetroresina, or Fibreglass 308's.

246GT Dino has the badge on the passenger side only.

Interesting how they move from car to car.

thanks! i figured it was one of those " hand built " Ferrari things, they put the badge on the side with the steering wheel, but it seems 1975 and 1976 fiberglass cars got them on both sides, for awhile at least! the '77 fiberglass USA cars seem to have them at random, and its hard to tell from pics alone how original the car is or if one was added. i am going to add one just to balance the looks out. i really dont know why it bothers me that there is not a mirror or Pinin badge on the pass side. but it does! cheers!

I've never seen one on the passenger side of a 308/328, only the drivers side. Mine included.

Let me rephrase: ALL European 308 GTB's in Vetroresina had the Pininfarina badge on the passenger's side.

Also, all Euro 308 GTB's had a single pipe exhaust and a dry sump engine, and a single distributor( electronic from 1978 onwards....)and a spacesaver spare wheel and .....and.....
