does anyone know more about this car, or have more pics of it? i got these from a fellow belgian (props to dirk dejaegher). he told me the car raced in a belgian championship. apparently it uses a ferrari engine, but has a self-designed chassis. any info would be more than welcome! S/n 79890 The car will be auctioned this weekend in Paris and it's owned by "Beurlys". BTW it's Dirk de Jager, not dirk dejaegher.
Are you sure its 79890? In 1989 and 1990, 79890(F40 LM) was raced in the IMSA series. I think Charles Pozzi is the current owner. (or was)
These pics where taken at the Belgium Ferrari Days at Francorchamps, ... saw the car over there, ... special for sure
79890 was sold new to Charles Pozzi and, as of 2001, he still had it... It was owned by the factory when it was raced in the IMSA series... i don't know if this helps any...
Are you sure? I don't see it listed in the online Christies catalogue for their Retromobile auction.....
The car will be auctioned in the Poulain la Fur-auction, not the Christie's auction! About the s/n. The catalogue gives some info about the history of the F40 Evo's and they mention s/n 79890. But that is indeed probably about other F40. Well... my french isn't that good.
The car his a F40 that "Beurlys" aka Jean Blaton had custom made in the hope to do a small production. This didn't happen and the car is now for sale. Roland F40LM
I have read several stuff about this First , its an F40 chopped of with a prepared engine second ,its an F40 LM chopped of .. third , its something made by Blaton with only an F40 engine tuned to 700hp+ . Seing how Poulain wanted 160/180ke for it , i think the last theory is the truth?
If you read the newer thread from a few months ago, not this 4 year old one you would know. It is NOT a real LM, it is a crashed "regular" F40 that was rebuilt like that.
