The 2 308s failed to sell at the March auction, then? Does anyone know what the yellow car is like? I recall one forum contributor stating that these cars had both been painted...

Ah ! that Countach used to be mine. Lovely piece of kit, no brakes, can't see jack all out of it and the seats are not all that. But what a sound and such street presence!

The car had it's engine sent back to Lambo SPA in the mid 80's due to oil / water mixing. Del Hopkins was THE lambo bloke, think he was last working for the UK Zonda mob.

    Oh happy, happy days. . . . . .

Yup, Del is still about but not with Zonda. My best mate saw him last month as it goes...He is Mr Lambo UK...

I've heard the brakes were appalling! What was it like to drive besides this? I've heard some horror sstories.

Yet another poster on my bedroom wall when growing up and an itch that needs to be scratched at some point in my lifetime.

Well the flat spot between 2 - 3k was a barrel of laughs. It was a pig to drive. heavy clutch, slow gear change. But I loved driving it so much. It was awesome! Most of the petrol pissed out the back in flames on the overrun. Always got some boy racer nob up your back end until you fried the front of his car off. Still is my favourite car, love my 355, but it's not as in your face as this baby was. I do miss her, if I had the money would be tempted to bid, although think I would go for a 88 half car, as mine was only 2 valve. Fancy the 455bhp 4 valve, but without those terrible side skirts on the later cars.

A company called Mov-it does proper brakes for the cars. the problem is space, as the wheels are only 15". With single pot calipers! If I kept the car, I would have gone this route.

The car was a peach when I had it. Think the last guy to buy the car was another Robert, who brought it from SA Classics. I think they got it sprayed for him. It had around 26000 miles on when I had it, so not sure what the miles would be now. All the better for use I'd say.

Oh yeah, the word wide springs to mind. . . .
